Safe Street ADT

I got system today and was very pleased the young man Terry Brown, he knew how to do his job , he also took extra time to explain how to work the system and made sure I understand, that meant a lot to me. He also made sure that the system was what I wanted, and he also made sure I understood my paper work, again I give this young man 5+ stars. We need more people like this young man.

Job scam

Advertised as a different job with different hours and different pay than it actually was. What a shame it is to lie to try and get people to work for you. I walked out laughing, what a waste of time and such a joke!

My experience is the same for everyone else. Orientation was held as a group and everyone shared their interview interactions. Everyone was either cold called about the job opportunity or saw an add on craigslist. The lady on the phone told me that they had several positions available that matched the experience listed in my resume; IT, Clerical, and Accounts Receivable. She also stated that they would love for me to come in for an interview and I accepted. On the day of the interview the man I assumed to be the manager but later found out was a company Recruiter Richard Springer Jones was actually away from the office so I had to reschedule for the next day; I was not notified prior to showing up.

The next day I went back and he spoke to me about my past job experiences and I told him I was a computer technician for geek squad and before that an Accounts Receivable Clerk and before that a receptionist for a film editing company. I recently moved from New York a month to be exact and I was jumping at every potential job. He said with my experience he did not see me not getting a position with them and that they started compensation at $600 a week salary based with bonus opportunities and full benefits. He made me sign paperwork for pre-employment drug screening and said if I passed the screening I'm as good as in. He also gave me his phone number to be able to let him know that I took the test.

After I took the test I called him several times and all I got was a voicemail. A week later I got an email from Springer stating that I had been hired based on the fact that I passed the drug screening. The email also stated that classroom type training would begin on the 30th and the 31st of March and I should confirm whether or not I would be there. I replied immediately stating that I'd be there, then I read the email again and realized there was no position listed. I emailed Springer asking about what position I was selected for and I did not get a reply. I also tried calling both phone numbers and got no answer I even left voicemails and sent him a text message still no reply.

At this point I was starting to feel uneasy about the whole thing but then I thought it's ADT and you can't lie during the hiring process that's illegal. I called ADT's 1800 number and they said that that office was not listed with them and they must be an authorized dealer. I tried finding a number for the office but they only listed the 1800 number for ADT. I then saw two reviews on Google from past employees that were negative but there were only two so I still made up my mind to see for myself by attending the training sessions. During the two days of training, me and about nine other new hires asked detailed questions in regards to a typical work day, compensation and the bonuses we were told about.

The Recruiter Springer Jones stuck to the story of $600 a week salary based, with opportunity of bonuses. They actually showed an ADT call center video where the employees were making bonuses based on merit and I asked so that's how we will be bonus based on our customer interaction and he said yes. He told us that we would be going into clients homes to see how the security systems are laid out and that we would be shadowing managers for 30 days and that we should not actually interact with the clients just watch the managers because we are being paid to learn the ropes.

On the third day we were given ADT T-Shirts and told that we would be going into the homes of clients also they told us that their clients were appointment based. On the drive to Orlando from Melbourne I decided to ask the same questions I asked Springer Jones to the Branch manager Norris Walker. His answers were completely different he said that our pay was 100% commissions based and that we would only be paid $80 for the two days of training and that we had to make sales to make money. We were never told anything about making sales and being 100% commissions and then he went on to say that we would be going into neighborhoods to cold knock.

There were new hires that quit their actual jobs to say yes to this company who initially pretended to be ADT only to be told that they are only an authorized dealer named Safe Streets USA who sells ADT security systems. And the kicker that we would not be getting paid if we didn't sell, the majority of the new hires signed on for clerical work not sales. I and the other 3 new hires asked the branch manager why they would deceive people into working for them and he said it's the only way people will say yes because if they tell people they’d be cold knocking and paid only on commissions people would not choose to work with them.

So apparently it's better to lie than tell the truth. There were five new hires within that van that went to Orlando myself included and four of us quit before we even made it to Orlando we also did not make it back to melbourne until around 9pm and we left melbourne at 12pm. They wasted my time and my money getting to and from the office. A review on Google from a past employee said that the recruiters get a cut if five new hires make sales within their first 30 days. I need for this company to be exposed and shut down at least that branch in Melbourne if they are the only ones doing this to people.

Safe Streetss Is FRAUD STREETS. My safety and security has been diminished greatly by this company. As a new home owner, I wanted to feel secure in my home and when I received the call from a representative selling ADT equipments, I accepted and had them come out to my home to install the equipment. Had I known what I know now about this fake, misleading company imposing on innocent Americans who simply want security systems in their homes to feel secure; I would not have invited these imposters and their fraudulent activities into my home.

First, the representative with whom I spoke to on the phone, told me that the service would be $42 monthly and all I would be responsible for paying was an installations charge of $99. I would receive 4 free sensors to be placed at the doors “normally we only provide 3, but I’ll throw in a 4th one at no cost to you” so I was told.

Second, when the technician arrived and wanted to install the equipment on the wall jack, I told him that’s not what I wanted and it shouldn’t be installed with my phone as I’ve never seen home securities systems installed in that manner. I was told by the technician, that if I wanted the equipment installed without using my home phone, then the price would be $47.99. Little did I know that I was making a HUGE mistake.

Third, after the equipment was installed and tested, I realized that there was no sound when the doors were opened. I informed the technician of this; he then told me that ADT no longer offers those equipments as they are old. Again, I trusted what he said and accepted it. I signed for payments and the technician left my home.

Now the insult, fraud and scam that Safe Streetss provided is not only disturbing but appalling. The most appalling thing about this whole situation is that when I called to cancel the service due to the fact that I’m very unsatisfied with their service, I was told that I signed a 3 year contract and in the event of cancellation, I would be responsible for 75% of the contract. I was so upset and went ahead and canceled and told them that I would not be responsible for it as I never signed an agreement with them; I provided a signature for payment of the installation. The representative with his vicious voice told me “good luck to you, you signed the agreement and it was emailed to you”. Not only wasn’t it emailed to me, I was never told of a 3 year agreement. Had I known, I would not have had them in my home. I don’t even have a word to describe the insensitivity of this company, how can ADT, a reputable company entrust such a fraudulent company to be an authorized dealer. Does ADT not care about the type of company/people they have representing their trusted name?

I wanted an ADT security system as I believed in the company – after I called to cancel Safe Streetss service, I called ADT directly to come out to my home and provide service as I can no longer deal with Safe Streetss, real name, FRAUD STREET. An ADT representative came into my home and to my surprise, the equipment I was told was the latest and new being used by ADT, is no longer even supported by the real ADT company. Safe Streetss, better known as FRAUD STREET, sold me a DSC System (low system) with a low grade keypad and to add insult to injury, my equipment is not even registered so in the event I have a real emergency, the police would not even come out to my house. Is that security or fraud?

Additionally, I was told by the representative with ADT, that they can’t help as there is no information from Safe Streets with regards to the service they provided and that I would have to cancel with them prior to working with ADT. I want an ADT security system and would appreciate the real company installing what I need in my home but they can’t help me so now I feel helpless and not safe in my own home.

ADT, your reputation is far too great to let such companies as Safe Streets be an authorized dealer. They are fraud/scammers, give innocent people misleading information and don’t provide any sense of security. I feel like my trust and safety has been jeopardized by this company.

Please beware, if you’re looking to install an ADT security system, Please, please do not call Safe Streets or answer their calls. They are a fraudulent company and would only cause you damage than security. Don’t do it, I’ve learned a huge lesson.

Stop and think, please don’t do it. Don’t allow Safe Streets into your homes as they will only deceive and provide you with old equipments not even supported by ADT. Save yourself the hassle and pain as they are SCAMMERS.

A SafeStreets Representative named Dennie Chambliss was in the neighborhood, (with a trainee) going door to door offering to install ADT alarm systems with a promotion of one free indoor camera, 2 glass breaks, a smoke detector, a light module and use of their smart phone app. We had been considering upgrading our current alarm system for some time, so we sat down to talk.

He offered to "CONVERT" our existing hard-wired system (we already have 2 glass breaks as well as the hard wired system) and install 2 security cameras inside for the promotional fee of $99 plust $160 for the 2nd camera (1 camera is included in the current promotion). So, I signed an installation work order, paid $259.00 and scheduled the installation for a couple days later.

When the installer showed up, he looked at the existing system and said he couldn't use it, but for an additional $1400 he could set us up with a state-of-the-art system. I told him to GET OUT OF MY HOUSE.

That in itself took some doing, because he immediately back-tracked and said he could do it for about $1000. I told him to GET OUT OF MY HOUSE NOW. He finally left, but 10 minutes later I got a phone call from someone at their Customer Retention department. I told them they had used bait and switch tactics and that I DID NOT want their alarm service for $1400 nor for $1000. She said she could do it for "only" $599.

I told her I never wanted to hear from them again and that I wanted my $259 refunded immediately. They said it would take about 10 business days.

10 business days later, my husband called SafeStreets to find out where our refund was. The person he spoke to said that they had a note "right there on our account" to process our refund that day.

When the refund did not show up in our bank account, we called the bank to refute the charge.

Then, today, three weeks after this all happened, I get a call from SafeStreets USA saying that they had sent us a refund, AND our bank had stopped payment on the $259 and credited our account, so that in fact, we had been paid back twice. They wanted their $259 back!

I told my husband to tell them we'd have to verify that with our bank, and that if that was the case, we'd refund their money in 10 working days, just like they did.
