In July of 2013 the U.S. heard about Hero the calf that had major damaged to all four hoofs. How a rescue had stepped in to help save the cow life by becoming a 501.c.3 to help with his very expensive very long recovery of amputating all for hoofs and giving him prosthetics. Many of the people wanted to know why? Which as one FB user has stated “Because he is a Cash Cow, a way of receiving 10’s of 1000’s of untraceable donations from hard working people that have big hearts”

Many people still don’t understand why you would wish to save a regular calf and put him through yrs of pain. Who is going to continue paying for him for the rest of his life? He is going to grow and new legs will have to be made for him and changed ect. What happens to him if they can no longer care for him or god for bid they pass away who is going to step up for the cost of his care? There is nothing special about this calf.

He doesn’t come from a blood line that is in danger and needs to be saved for fear of breed extinction. The thing with saving animals such as this it the fact the public are hero junkies and want to jump on a band wagon for the pat on the back. However as the wagon rolls down more and more people jump off that wagon and onto the next big adrenaline wagon. Ask any Equine rescue that pulls horses from the kill auctions and lots. Once the animal is saved there isn’t any more incoming funds for them. The vetting, feed and care then falls on the funds of the rescue. Does Selah have the funds to continue to care for this calf for the next 20 yrs of its life?

Now onto the more important matter. The legitimacy of Selah Ranch it’s self.

They claim to be a Not for Profit 501.c.3. This has been all questioned and instead of them coming back with honest answers have pointing fingers and screaming foul. How they are being stalked and harassed and threatening those that ask questions and or post the proof that their claims are false. Anyone that deals in rescue and 501.c.3 knows that it is a long drawn out process. It can take months to over a year to become one. How it works.

You draw up articles of corporation and form a Board and a Mission Statement.

You secure your cooperation name.

You take you paperwork to your local county with the proper fees for filing County and State.

You must also file in your state to solicited and collect donation.

You contact the IRS for EIN under the Non-profit listing and request the forms to file as a 501.C.3 (Note: is always best to have a lawyer help you with the paperwork)

You will receive a letter confirming they have received you paperwork which at the time you can claim 501.C.3 pending then and only then can you make any such claim.

You will after review which again can take months to over a year. The time will depend if your paperwork is all in order and don’t have to supply anymore information. Once it is granted you will receive your formal letter and then you can change your status to 501.C.3.

NOW some other facts with this. Churches are exempt. You have a 27 month grace period if you donations are under 5k. This gives new Non-profits time to decide if their business is going to make it or not or if they really want to proceed. During this time you are considered a 501.C.3 for filing tax purpose ONLY. They will allow most all your donations to be tax deductible. But again you can not go over 5000.00 a year. In a case such as Selah where we know they went up and well over that because of the situation they could request a Speedy Process and it most likely would be granted.

Now the facts.

Selah was not registered as a Not-for-Profit. Yes they are in the Data base however there is no registration showing.

Selah was not registered to solicit and was giving a warning letter by the State of Virginia

Excuse: We told them we were moving to Texas and they said we didn’t need to file it.

Opinion: Yes, if you were moving right away and registering in Texas that would be true

however you have NOT moved months later and you are not registered in the State of Texas either.

Selah is not registered with the IRS at this time as a 501.C.3. The IRS can not confirm if they have filed to do so by law nor will they give out the information over the phone if they did indeed register they EIN as such and receive the grace period.

HOWEVER if they have filed for the 501.C.3 then all they have to show is the letter stating the IRS received their paperwork.

EXCUSE: They have not given one to as why they will or can not show it. The say call

Call the IRS they will tell you”

Fact: Have called and was given the information as listed above.

Selah has claimed that they were found in 2008 in Wyoming as private rescue and didn’t file for the Non-profit until the got Hero.

FACT: The only Wyoming address associated with Cami Lyn Martin and 17 aliases

belongs to Trailer Park. All other Address of 15 Washington, 5 South Carolina,

4 North Carolina and 6 Virginia have been houses on lots, Storage unit and State

Parks camp grounds and one that didn’t look to be anything but a wooded area. .

Conclusion:

You can whine, point fingers, cry about stalkers all you want. The truth of the matter is, when you open yourself up to the public and beg for money you better be ready for the questions that come with it. If you are on the up and up and will post out money as it comes in and thank your donor. You do not have to give full name. When money is spent you list that as well. Bills and things posted. Post Receipts of payments. THAT is what keeps you honest in the public’s eye. All this could have been avoided if you were just honest. When mistakes were pointed out you could have said you were sorry and asked for help instead of the name calling and finger pointing. You have now shown your true colors and dishonesty.

P.S. DON’T EVER THREATEN ME WITH A EMPTY THREAT AGAIN BECAUSE THE TRUTH AND PROOF IS ON MY SIDE!!!!

This is a bunch of lies by a bunch of jealous woman who sit on facebook ripping on people who do rescue animals

These are lies started by a group of woman who troll facebook . It starts when people rescue horses from someo0ne they don't like. As soon as they see an animal leaves the rescue they hate they target the new victim. They stalk harass anyone who disagrees with them. They call every legal agency they can to try to get the victim in trouble with the law. They call friends, business contacts etc. Post pictures of your home, children etc. It is cyber bulling at its best.
