Shell Lube Center Reviews

On or around March 2nd I took my Ford Tarsus that I had purchashed from Raymond of Amigo Tires and found the person he had mentioned to look at the vehicle.

I pulled up to the Shell Station around 3:30pm and a man name (Ramir) not sure if that is correct came out and i explained to him that both headlights were out and if he knew anything about reparing the car. He looked at the car and said that its probably having to do with the signal switch but he wasnt for certain and he would have to call the mechanic. He then went to get a guy who was the mechanic who also was the guy who Raymond had suggested look at the car and check it out. He looked and looked under the hood ckeck over and over the signal swich and determined that it was the switch.

Now at this time Ramir(assuming he was the one in charge) started talking about ways to get the car fixed with the mechanic and concluded that he would call the Auto Shop to check the part out and would order it and i would pay them for the part and he would let me know what he would charge for labor.

He called the shop and the part was $130 and could be there tomorrow or the next day. Now the problem was that getting it done and when was the next issue. So the mechanci said to me he could fix the car by puttin a switch on it so that the light would come on and I said to him If this is temporary and not alter my car or cause an issue with the lights going on on their own then i was fine with that. I needed to be certain i would be safe at nite or when i needed them on that they would work.

The mechanic was still trying to figure this thing out so Ramir went back inside and left me there with him working on the car. This was now getting late and i was getting frustrated because eveyting he tried didnt work and finally he said he would hook up the switch and run it under the hood to get a ground. I am looking at all of this wiring under the car and inside the car which was left as a bunch of wires and mess in my car. I asked the mechanci how much was he going to charge me for this job? He said $20 i said ok i have to go and get the money from the ATM.

Then Ramir comes back outside and asked what was going on and the mechanic said i was going to go get his money. Then Ramir got very upet with me and said that he was going to charge me $80 and i said for what? for headache and time and mess and disarry of my car? He got mad at the mechanci and told him never tell a customer what the cost of the service would be that is something that he would handle. At this time i said well i asked him what was the charge since he did the work and it was done the way it was done and i wanted to leave before night he again said $20. Then Ramir threaten to call the police to let them know that i was going to leave without paying and that he woud call Zee, the owner and let him know what has happened.

So I called the police and they came and we discussed what happened and i explained to them I was not intented to leave but i though he charge me unfairly and that the service was terrible and my car was worse off than it was before it came.

The police said that the shop could charge whatever they want. I agreed and I had asked Ramir prior to all of this to give me an invoice with prices itemiizing services. The police had him wirte out a receipt but Ramir woote out a note instead. I paid the $80 and told them i would never do service there agein. The police asked i I would be able to dirve safely home withe the lights not working properly and i said yes i am gping straight home. I am not sure where Zee the owner was or who this guy was running this shop but what i do remember he said to me when i first engaged in conversation with him...he said "I am Slick"....well he thought it meant something good but really he was right he is just what it really means.
