I was very interest in an online Myster Shopper position and so I applied giving my home address and telephone number. The employer advised me to contact them via text message or email but not to call. I was a bit leary at this point but I figured it would be ok.

I got a USPS flat rate envelope with instructions for the company, www.shoppremier.org. This included instructions on go to the nearest Walmart and rate and review the customer service I received. I would also get to keep any item that I purchased. The second set of instructions was a give away of the scam. It instructed the shopper to go to Rite Aid, CVS, Radioshak, Walgreen, Kmart, 7ELeven, Family Dollar or any store that carries the "Green DOt reload prepaid card" This card once it is loaded you cannot get your money back. It asked me to purchase 4 of them and put $425 on each totalling $1700.

In this package also came a Cashier's check for $1,987.52 from WestAmerica Bank in San Rafael Ca at the Vallejo branch. I contacted the bank directly and the manager advised me that this was a cashiers check that has already been cashed and this appears to be a scam. She advised that they would not be able to cash this cashier's check and it would bounce.

I wanted to let anyone know that their were several red flags. The website stopped working, the contact number went to vm, the cashier's check was fradulant which was verified by the bank. To any new mystery shopper you are completly unaware that you are about to be in the negative $1987.52. Be careful and be wise.

shoppremier.org Cindy Oakley Damto Clothes SCAM

I received an e-mail form mystery shoppers, inc: www.mystery-shoppers.com a few weeks ago and submitted my information for an application: name, address, phone number, e-mail address. No bank info was requested or given. I researched their company on-line. Seemed legitimate. Warned about scammers and that these type of companies should have MSPA (Mystery Shopping Providers Association) logo at the bottom. On 9/20/14, i received a text message: Phone #: 915-703-5270( a Texas #), saying that my first assignment would be sent to me via USPS. Text said to follow instructions and contact Jason Brown @ [email protected]. Cell#: 613-903-0091( text only) thanks(a Canadian number). from shoppremier. I went to www.shoppremier.org and at that time, there was a page with information about the company. There was a BBB( Better Business Bureau) logo at the bottom and a MSPA logo at the bottom, so i assumed it was legit.

Received an email from the"Research/Evaluation Team ([email protected]) on 9/25/14, informing me that a package had been sent to me. Received an e-mail from "Jason Brown" ([email protected]).

Long story..... the website for www.shoppremier.org no longer exists. the shoppremier.org email address messages aren't going through, as the e-mail addresses are no longer valid. (ending with @shoppremier.org))

Received priority mail package on 10/4/14.

BancorpSouth (official check) was included, Dated 9/24/14: $1,987.52, (My commission was $200)

Package ship date was 9/19/14. From Cindy Oakley Damto Clothes, 3300 Proteet Dr, Mesquite, TX 75150.

2 part instructions. 1st was to make a $15 purchase from wal mart and evaluate. 2nd was to go to rite aid, cvs, radioshack, walgreen, kmart, 7eleven, family, dollar, or any story and purchase 4 green dot reload prepaid cards, add $425 to ach card=1700, service fee of $4.95 each.

Called BancorpSouth's customer service #, gave check number, and was told by representative that the check is not cleared, not to cash it.

Do your research with these companies. Mystery Shoppers, Inc., was the only company i gave my info to.
