Shoppers Advantage Reviews

I signed up with a company called Great Fun after buying a product that came with a rebate from Tigerdirect.com The link came up after my purchase and I called the provided 800 number. Not a rebate but a cash back deal was explained. You sign up for $1.00 and $16.99 per month and are enrolled. Great Fun aka Shoppers Advantage are clubs which offer discount prices on things that you can get for the same or less at many on-line stores. However I had already bought the gadget from Tigerdirect and I wanted the rebate. So I accepted their long winded offer. The rebate comes as a coupon you have to mail back with your receipt. It took three calls to get the coupon and a agent extended the free trial peiod one month. I finally received my rebate check and cancelled my membership but what I did NOT know is that I was actually enrolled with both Shoppers advantage for $16.99 and Great Fun for $16.99 each per month. My credit card bill comes and I see the charge. A call to Shoppers Advantage had a agent tell me that their are NO refunds. My cancellation to Great Fun had nothing to do with them. Why would anyone pay almost $40.00 a month for the same service. If you sign up for either of these services. If you cancel check your statement. You must cancel with both companies and you may not know you were signed up with both. They seem to operate through certain on-line companies like Tigerdirect but their are no doubt others. The trial period of one month is just too long to receive your rebate and they do not provide a link to print a coupon on a printer.

I noticed a reoccuring charge for 16.99 on my card from Shoppers Advantage, a company I had never heard of. After googling the name of the company I saw that many other people were having the same issue.

The phone number for the company (800-553-4948) showed up on my statment so I called. Turns out, when I booked a couple of airline tickets online 5 months ago, I got a pop up offer for a $50 rebate. I called a 1-800 number to claim the rebate, I was told I just had to sign up for a service with a company called Great Fun and that I could cancel anytime. What they did not tell me is that I was being signed up for shoppers advantage automatically when I claimed the rebate. (which I didn't even get)

After speaking with a supervisor at shoppers advantage, I was told that they will refund the charges made to my account as well as cancel my membership. The refund will take up to 7 business days, I will be paying closer attion to my account from now on.
