I received a DMV Hold Notice from South Bay Expressway stating that I had driven on their toll road without paying. The letter wanted $102.50 ($2.50 for the toll and $100 penalty.)

I have never driven on any toll road. I had to look online to even know where the road 2014-OLR-SB-2 was (South San Diego.) I've never even been on that road!

I checked my schedule/daytimer and found that I was working in my office all day (including the time stamp that they said I was on the toll road.)

The letter gives me the option of submitting a letter of explanation. I'm wondering why I keep getting these erroneous letters. I received one stating that I was driving on a toll road in Colorado as well.

I will mail the letter of explanation, but I was shocked to find online that many others have had this same problem with South Bay. I hope they resolve it.

I just receive a Notice of Toll Evasion-Payment Request at the location 9015-OLP-SB-2 at time 1:43 PM. But I believe that I have received this notice in error. This is a WRONG CITATION.

South Bay Expressway creates a trap for any driver unfamiliar. Once you can read the signs it is too latee to get in correct lane to pay the toll. We were going to back up to pay fine but they made that imposible also. So they are ripping me off by fining me $62.50 when I would be happy to pay the $2.50.

I just received a Notice of Toll Evasion - Payment Request amount $62.50 dlls, location 9015-OLP-SB-2

I didn't use that freeway on the day and time they are stating, this is a FALSE CITATION.

Options I have:

Pay the fee by check or credit card.

Failure to respond will result in an increase in fees being added and also my result in the referral to a collection agency and/or withholding of your vehicle registration by the DMV until payment is made in full. It also states that

Accordance to the laws in teh state of California diputes mus be mailed.

Now I have to request an administrative review in writing by mail and wait for the results of the investigation.

I'm a busy person, I don't have time to be dealing with some error of this company.

I would like to know too how to make an official complaint to the DMV.

I was sent Notice of Toll Evasion - Payment Request. The notice states that I was driving at a particular time close to Noon on a day before I was leaving out of the country nowhere near where I live. At that time I was packing and getting things ready for my trip. How in the world are they able to get away with this!!??
