Do not have Spencer build your Classic Camaro! He gets most, if not all, of his customers from his ebay listing. He will list a Camaro ZL-1/COPO as a phony auction BID but contact the buyer (Sucker) directly. His phone number is posted on the site and will encourage you to contact him. This is how he can scam ebay without paying a seller fee and using ebay as his personal website.

Once contacted, he will make his sale. I fell for his fast talk and it was the worst decision I had ever made! Once he receives your last bank-wired check, you will not here from him for weeks on end. Phone calls, emails and texts will go unaswered. It will take the threat of legal action in order to get your car done. A 12 month build will go on for nearly 3 yrs!

Once the car is delivered it will likely not be working as mine was. Spencer uses cheap aftermarket parts, wrong components and the Camaro will have poor workmanship!

Don't be scammed by this self-proclaimed Camaro expert.

Always Two Sides to a Story.

Always Two Sides to a Story.

Funny how on E-bay...I am 100 Percent on my Car Sales over 13 Years...

My Add on E-bay for this Camaro had 24 Pictures and a Ton of Information in the Add...I can Show anyone the Add...Plus I had the Camaro on my TV Show and talked all about the Camaro on the Show and showed all the Parts that were with the Camaro...

I sent him the TV Show also before he bought the Camaro so there could be no Confession.

I have a lot of Repeat Customers. A Happy Customer will Buy from you again.

My E bay add said that I Don't have the Title Yet, But I would Guaranty a Title.

The Title was miss placed by the guy I got the Camaro from so he sold it to me with a Bill of Sale

He had Owned the Camaro 20 Years and had moved 3 times in the 20 years.

I waited for him to try and find it and then turned the paper work in to get the Title in my name.

As soon as the Title was in my Name I sent him the Title on this Camaro. He Does Have the Title.

I can show anyone the Copy of the Title, I can show anyone the E-bay add and the TV Show on this Camaro to Prove he is Wrong and you can see the High-end Restoration work on the Camaros in the back ground...I can also show you all the Trophies in my shop that the Restored Camaros have Won.

He also said he met my Reserve on E-bay and then I called him. How could I get his Phone Number to call him??? E-bay “Does Not” send someones “Phone Number” once they Hit the Reserve Price....

He Called me and said “What will it take to Buy this Camaro Now and Stop the Auction” I said $20k

He then wired me the $20,000.00 on the Camaro.

He called me the next day and said he didn’t know anyone who could do the Restoration on the Camaro.....He saw from my TV Show that I do Full Frame Off Restorations and asked me to do a Contract for him to Restore this Camaro...

I told him since he bought the Camaro From me...I would give him a Better Deal to do a Total Frame off Restoration and find a Correct 1969 Dated 396-375 hp 4 Bolt Main Motor.

The Contracted stated $50,000.00 to do the Restoration work...I still have the Contract I sent him.

How could I Force anyone into a Contract like he Says???

If anyone is reading this Now... Call any Shop.... they will Quote you a lot Higher Price to do the same work I was going to do. So I gave him a Deal on the Restoration Because he bought the Camaro...

After he Agreed to the Contract he said he would Wire me the Money...I waited and did not get a wire to start the work. He then called me a day latter and said I will be there tomorrow to pick up the Camaro and that my friends would have guns on them and not to worry because they are off duty Police Officers....I thought that was Weird of him to say???

I asked him why he didn’t want me to do the work? He said a New Shop was opening up were he lived and they would do the work a lot Cheaper.....Now I thank God we never did the Restoration for him...

He asked to pick up the Camaro the next day because his Police Officer friends had the weekend off.

I told him the parts were in storage and we were not working on the weekend.

I did tell him the Shop would be Closed for the week of July 4th for the Holidays

This Camaro was taken down to a Bare Shell...”Just like the E-bay add said and all the Pictures showed the Camaro all apart. It Was a Builder Car...It was a Incredible Body 1969 SS 396-375hp Factory 410 Posi

We then had to Box Everything up for him to take with him. Which took some time for us to Box up.

We were Filming for the TV Show Monday & Tuesday and I told him he could get the Camaro on Wednesday...

He also said in this Report.....”I advising him, i would arrive his shop, longmont, colorado, june 28, to pick up the camaro. He had several excuses, for me not being able to pick up the car, on june 28.

June 28, i and a friend arrived his shop Longmont, colo)”,

If this was True....How did I have everything Boxed and Ready for him to pick up on June 28th???

He also states...I didn't give him the Title at the Shop....He knew about the Delay with the Title because he sent me the “Bill of Sale from his State” for this Camaro.

He said he wanted the Bill of Sale in-case he got pulled over on the way home since he wouldn't have the Title. That Proves he knew I didn't have the title.

I do have Copies of his “Bill of Sale from his State” to show anybody.

I am Very Easy to get along with and Never Reacted the way he said I did when he got to my shop...

We even helped him load up all the parts and the Camaro...He had no Police Friends with him...

He also talked about my Shop...We Build 6 Camaros at a Time...There is four of us working at the shop he was at...The Paint & Body Shop is at another location...You has to be Seperate because of dust...

You can also see how Nice and Clean and Organized my Shop is on the TV Show since he said my Shop was Dirty, and Un-Organized also.

I have Pictures of my Camaros at the Body Shop with the other Employ's if anybody needs to see that also. He also says...” my Camaros were no where close, to being 1st class, frame off rotisserie, nut/bolt restorations, with all new components, as he claimed. Body prep and paint quality was extremely poor quality, parts/components, being used, were used”.....

Judges First look at Paint and Body at a Car Show...Then Everything else

I have included Two Interviews “Hot Rod TV” and Super Chevy TV did with me. Look at me Camaros on both and you can be the Judge of my Restoration Work....It is as easy as that...Plus I can show you the First Place Trophies from the Car Shows...And the Magazines they were in....

My Name, Camaros and Documents are in in John Hoopers 1969 Camaro Reference Book...and Jerry MacNeish Z28/ SS396 Fact Book....Plus 98 Percent of the People that Fly in to my Shop...Buy One of my Camaros because of the Quality of my Restoration Work...Plus I have a lot of Repeat Customers...:)

“Hot Rod TV” did a 30 minute Interview with me and a Black & Gold 1969 ZL-1 Camaro for their TV Show and some of my Rare ZL-1 Camaro Documents and ZL-1 Blue Prints I have. Go 13 Minutes into it for the Interview

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=H6Yvs36hZ_w

“Super Chevy TV Show” did a Interview with me and a Orange and Black 1970 ZL-1 Camaro for their TV Show and some of my Rare ZL-1 Camaro Documents and ZL-1 Blue Prints I have. Go 18 Minute's into it for the Interview.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=x9g9sxlRKfY&feature=player_embedded

The Add also Said “Builder 396 Motor” that's it...Nothing about the Heads

In my Restoration Contract it Said I would Find the Correct 396-375 hp with Correct Heads and that would be Included in my Restoration Cost...

Spenser Wetherall Review

Reading your post was like a mirror image of my experience...after 27 months finally making progress. Promise after promise is left with more excuses. I have heard every excuse in the book but this guy tops them all. Sorry to hear the end product did not satisfy either. What like to speak with you on the items that fell short of expectation so I can try to cover my tracks. 303-653-1391

Spencer Wetherall, known on e-bay as: bear123jetski

Spencer Wetherall, Wetherall Restorations, Time Machine Camaros, Longmont, Colorado, continues ripping off unsuspected customers, on e-bay, as bear123jetski.

e-bay, continues to allow him to run Ads, where-by, he lists 1969 Camaros: ZL1 {blue/white (convertible), gold/black}, pro-touring (green, on a trailer, with a woman sitting on the trailer fender), 396/375hp, SS (black), 427/425hp (COPO). The Ad(s) are written, where potential customers, will contact him, regarding the build. After talking with you, he convinces you to conduct business offline from e-bay. As per e-bay, this is illegal. Complaints have filed with e-bay, but e-bay, does not take appropriate action, to stop him from running any Ad(s).

There is so much BS in his Ad(s), regarding building a 1969 Camaro, of your dreams. He claims to be personal friends, with a very well known Camaro person (JM, that certifies Camaros, as being authentic).

Wetherall, states TV show, Time Machine Camaros (he has), is well known and watched weekly. Very odd, as this show has never been found on any TV channel.

His slick tongue sales pitch, has scammed several unsuspecting people, to allowing him to build them a 1969 Camaro. The complaints are all the same -- poor quality, poor craftsmanship (body work, paint jobs), uses cheap/inferior Chinese, poor quality (that should have been scrapped) and incorrect parts (all not easily noticeable), does not use NOS OEM parts and parts that have been professionally re-built (he tells you he is going to use), excessive cost over runs, a 10 month build (he promises), actually takes 3-5 years, having you pre-pay, tens of thousands of dollars, upfront (months before any work actually starting), juggling money, how he always wins 1st place, in any car show he enters and people, are waiting on him, to build a Camaro for them. His contract has too many loopholes, is horribly written, all in his favor.

Complaints have been filed with scamorg.com, rip off report.com, complaints list.com and the Colorado Attorney General's office.

Customers he has ripped-off and screwed over, are both in the USA and Canada!!

People like this, gives the classic car industry, bad reviews and a bad name.

Do your due diligence and in-depth research "do not let this guy, sucker talk you, into building a 1969 Camaro".

Crook!

The guy is a crook, He was just arrested after 20 people complained about his rip-off operation. He got off easy, but the people he screwed got it worse. Each person was offered $5000 and some small amount per month. Not much of a repayment considering each person lost many tens of thousands. My friend was one of the ones that lost out, and I can only hope that this jerk never gets another piece of business from anyone, and I hope he rots in hell.
