My husband and I checked out of this hotel on a Sunday. Shortly after leaving, we realized a cell phone and charger were left in the room so we called and advised the hotel of this. The manager claims he found a charger but no phone. Luckily we tracked our smartphone's location online. The battery was low and died as of 10am Sunday morning so only a Low Battery ping could be traced to the hotel's location.
As of Tuesday night, the phone had been plugged in and it sent a ping from the same exact hotel location! Thanks Lookout.com! When I called the hotel, I asked for the owner/manager. The same guy I spoke to before stated the manager was not in. I advised him he is the same manager I spoke to 3 days ago. This guy then changes the subject. When I confronted him that we have proof the phone was plugged in at his hotel, he asked how I knew that.
I advised he needs to mail me the phone or bring it to the front desk, or I will call the police, he called me a "f***** stupid B****" and hung up on me.
When the police arrived at his hotel, this character denied it to the cops even with proof from the cop showing the transactions. Needless to say the phone was not recovered and the cops could not do anything to arrest anyone without physical proof.
