Mayo Clinic/St Luke's truth Told

I am writing this letter in dispute and because of the way I have been treated by St Luke's hospital located in Jacksonville, Florida. I have already contacted the Administrative department at Mayo Clinic and St. Luke's

hospital but they are not willing to listen And help

me with my problem that I am current experiencing with

them.

On November 27, 2001 I was seen at St. Luke's emergency

department because of a wisdom tooth that was infected.

When I was seen the doctor was first really ignorant. All the doctor did was look in my mouth and say I needed to be seen by a dentist since he could not do anything about my

infection.

February 2002 (Three Months later) I received a billing

that said I had to pay them $113.00. I sent the hospital my insurance information. Several months later I received another Statement indicating that I had a ZERO DOLLAR BALANCE WITH THEM.

March 2002 I was involved in a Motor Vehicle accident and

once again was seen at this horrible facility. They billed my Vehicle Insurance for the amount owed and then I received another Statement indicating I had a zero dollar balance.

April of this year

I received a statement from St. Luke's indicating I owed

$50.00 for services rendered on November 27, 2001. I called them and was told that I had to pay This but can send in a dispute/settlement letter and that they would honor it. A couple months later Accelerated Receivables Management, a collection agency located in Jacksonville, FL, started to harass me over this debit which I continue to dispute.

This past Monday I contacted the administrative department

of Mayo Clinic and was told someone would call me back. Tuesday October 7, 2003 I went to St. Luke's hospital and was given a run around saying that I owe this amount and they don't care if I have been harassed by a collection agency as they stated. They also said, since I did not pay this bill it would remain on my credit report for up to seven years and I feel as if they did not care about it.

One other thing I would like to mention is that according

to one of the hospital's billing specialists they sent my

Insurance company $50.00 back (at their request,

becaus according to the specialist I was responsible for this payment).

I am not the only one who has been experiencing problems with this facility and Mayo Clinic. My roommate who was involved in the motor vehicle accident with me had our lawyer's contact St. Luke's indicating that all bills/correspondence should be sent to our Lawyers but the facility did not do this instead they reported it to a collection agency for payment.

I am willing to take any legal actions needed against Mayo Clinic and St. Luke's hospital because I feel as if I was treated in an unprofessional way and Accelerated Receivables Management should not be harassing me like they have been.

I am really upset that big facilities like Mayo harass people and do not care. I also hate the fact that they say; we're a non profit hospital but meanwhile try to destroy peoples credit and reputation.
