I had a concept for an online job board for the Beauty Industry called Staff My Salon, I met with Design Done Right a local web designer to see if the concept can be put into action. Having no computer programming or web development experience I felt pretty confidant based on their portfolio and conversation, that DDR knew what they were doing. How wrong I was.
I gave them what I thought was the basics for the website, and they would make it work! Considering that's what they do, Signed a contract to my basic specification and the work began, there was a tight timeline that DDR put themselves under because of upcoming Trade Shows. The site goes live March 1st without being publicly tested and within the first week there were major problems throughout the site. It was very hard to navigate, there were NO call to action buttons telling users where to go or what to do and because of the complexsity of the site having 2 sides of users, if one item didn't work the whole site was useless. I wrote serveral emails to DDR about problems within the site thinking that they would make it a easy to navigate and user friendly but NO. This company has no integrity or customer service skills.
DDR felt that because the site was live based on my specification even though they didn't work they did their job. I complained for 3 month to no avail, all I got was a price list and a invoice for another $1700 it would take to change the original,specification. Turns out that the site had broken links that were causing some of the problems but it was not their responsibility.
I was totally ripped off by this company and had to hire another company to rebuild the site from scratch and lost over $10,000 for a site that never worked. Before you hire this company you better be able to understand every aspect of web design and development or your just handing over a check. The contract from DDR does not guarantee a working site, it gaurantees DDR get paid!
