Sterling Jewelers Inc. Reviews

I made an online order for a diamond necklace. The package was taken off my porch. I NEVER personally saw it. My neighbor found the empty box by the pool, but the box was not on my porch And never recovered. UPS was willing to pay for the missing merchandise and STerling Jewelers told them not to pursue the case any further. They continued to tell me IM liable for a package I never received. If UPS recognizes the liability in the issue, why block them from reimbursing me for the necklace I NEVER recieved?? Very rude and unprofessional

I purchased 4 Leo diamond channel set rings, approximately .5 ct wt each as a Mother's ring (soldered together.) After wearing for only a few months, single stone fell out. Took it back, they sent it away for 2 months to replace the stone. The excuse was that it was a "Leo" and it was hard to find one to replace it (look in the display case.)

I got it back and they inspected all 4 rings and had them sent in to be resized. A month later I got my rings back.

A month later another diamond (not the same one) fell out of the same ring. I was frustrated and took it back in. They sent it back to "corporate" to have another stone set and check the prongs. They checked the other rings and said they wanted to have them sent in as well "just to be sure" because the prongs were showing signs of wear. I had not had the rings for 6 months...

It took 2 months to get the 3 returned. I had them soldered together (just 3 because we were still waiting to find another elusive Leo....?) So now I have 3 rings (son's name engraved in each one.) One ring still waiting to have a stone replaced (my daughter's name engraved inside.)

I eventually got my ring back...to have yet another stone fall out 6 weeks after. I had asked to have them check ALL of the diamonds and setting while they had it the previous time.

I took it in, and figuring I would catch more flies...was very polite. The new manager of the store and the new sales people told me that it was MY fault for washing my hands with it on or running my fingers through my hair...seriously?

They have had my ring for almost 4 months. I have called and spoken to salesmen twice. I drove 80 minutes to the store to try and get a face to face with someone in charge. She was on vacation, but the salesperson assures me she will be back the next day and he will make sure she is informed and returns my call. After 3 weeks, I write an email to "corporate" and I get a response several days later telling me they were sorry and would look into it and get back to me. The estimated return date was 2 months ago and I haven't heard from "corporate in 2 weeks. Not only do I not believe Leo diamonds of that size are so rare they can't be replaced quickly, I do not believe it takes this many attempts to contact someone who has the authority to help me and get answers.

My girlfriend and I were doing some shopping at the mall of America and wanted to get some ideas for a ring for our upcoming engagement. Kay jewelers on the 3rd floor offered us to join their rewards program for free. I had asked "is this going to be a credit pull?" They answered "no" and that it was "strictly an I house rewards program with no credit information needed". The sales clerk continued to ask me questions which led me to ask, "is this a credit pull? will this in any way affect my credit? are you 100% sure this has nothing to do with credit?" The clerk assured me it didn't by saying, "I guarantee you this has nothing to do with credit, it is just for our in house rewards program. You may get some coupons in the mail with special member offers."

A week later I received my credit card in the mail. I immediately called customer service and had the card deactivated. Upon doing so I was informed that not only did my credit score take a hit from the credit pull but that it would also take a substantial hit from canceling the card. This needs to be addressed by someone....anyone. After repeatedly being lied to I feel like that company should have to pay for this. I warn anyone planning to shop at kay jewelers to avoid this completely, do not give out any personal information for any reason.

Buyer Beware: Kay Jewelers & Jared will not stand behind what their employees tell customers. Jared and Kay are owned by the SAME company, when we purchased my wedding ring we bought the extended warranty so I

can have it rhodium dipped. The employee at Kay Jewelers told us we could take it directly to Jared's to have this done

so I wouldn't have to wait for 3-4 days, which they did 3 times. Now suddenly Jared has new management and said I can no longer do that, it has to go to Kays and then shipped to the EXACT Jared's where I drop it off to be done, which will take 3-4 days. We even offered to buy the exact rings last year at Jared so it wouldn't be an issue and they

assured us it was the SAME company and they would honor the warranty there. When I called the so called customer service department for both companies the only thing they would say was "sorry OUR employee didn't

give accurate information, they no longer work for the store". So I asked the manager if their employees can just say whatever they want to get the sale and then they just don't worry about standing behind what we were told. He pretty much said sorry but we will not allow you to take it directly to Jared, even though he knows this is what I was told.

So be careful when shopping at Kay's or Jared Jewelers and make sure you get EVERYTHING in writing!! Truly the WORST customer service I have seen for a so called huge jewelery store. This was such an easy fix for the company to simply let me drop my own ring off to where it would be serviced rather than have it shipped from the Kay store?? They have lost

my business for good!
