Subaru Pacific Reviews

Switched and Bait. Gave us a verbal lease quote, vin number and color of car. Lured us in and then switched price. Dan Smith said it was an "honest" mistake. Manager did not stand by the original quote either.

The reason for my complaint is not for the entire process. My sales lady was a very nice person. She was rather new but she was very respectful and helpful and we were both very pleased with her dealings with us. The review of the dealership is not because of anything other than the fact that they sneakily pulled my credit without my permission. They were well aware that I was going to make a cash/credit/check deal and the car was an $8,400 beater car which is under the $10,000 that the law requires they check identification for on cash deals. They tried to tell me that they are required by law to pull my credit to verify my identity and that I am not on some kind of a terrorist list. Both of these statements are false since the vehicle purchase was under a $10,000 cash deal. If it were over $10,000 cash deal this may apply. Neither the Debit Card nor check that I used is considered cash deals in which that would apply anyway. Well, they ran my credit without my permission anyway which can lower ones credit score and take two years to get off your credit score. The third attempt the finance department made to atone themselves for pulling my credit was saying they had signed permission form (from me) which they did not. I did not sign the credit pulling agreement because their form was clear about skipping that section if you are not applying for credit. Their final statement they made was to say that my credit pull would show up as just a soft pull which would not affect my credit core. This was false statement number four, since I monitor my credit very closely and as I suspected this company would and , in fact did, show up as a hard pull on my credit? They did say that if it showed up as a hard pull to my credit that they will clear it with all three of the credit unions. Luckily, I did make them sign something in writing saying that they would clear this from my credit however, I'm guessing that will be prove to be false statement number four. Mind you I started my day with a pre-approved loan from my own USAA bank in which I trusted. The funny thing is that pull does not show as a hard inquiry.

You should be ashamed of yourselves and your unethical and greedy business practices.

Lastly, their finance guy whom I will not name, in my opinion, needs a bit of a refresher course on dealing with customers. I am an educated and experienced business executive who is well versed in contracts and their importance. I am appalled that their finance representative felt it was appropriate to roll his eyes and clearly show his agitation at me when, I, as a cash paying, customer actually questioned and modified some of the verbiage of the contract. His agitation was clearly shown by rudely slapping a blank sheet of paper and a pen when I asked “where do I amend the contract to state that your company will clear my credit if it shows up as a hard pull?” How dare I ask your company to sign something that states you will do what you say you will. Well I am very glad I did, and I urge any potential customers to ether go elsewhere to a business with moral and business ethics nd/or clearly read and completely understand your sales agreement/contracts as I did for the very same reason. If it’s not in writing it never happened or was never said. Regardless, he was very short and curt after I made clear my disapproval of this company pulling my credit. I confronted him with my position of his behavior, I confronted the behavior and let him know that if he kept it up you could keep your car and I’d go find another one. Luckily his attitude changed at that time.
