Tampa Bay Times Reviews

  • Jul 14, 2014

Tampa Bay Times' customers subscriptions have been drastically declining for the past few months, more than usual for this "non-snowbird season". To compensate for the loss Tampa Bay Times all over has started to consolidate routes, to reduce the amount of routes and delivery drivers needed; AND reduced the amount that they are paying for their papers to get delivered anywhere from .03-.08 cents per paper. By consolidating their routes it gives each driver more papers now but come snowbird season, when they all come back, each driver will have more papers than they can deliver in the time alotted to deliver them - thus alowing for a complaint charge of $1 for every late paper thrown, allowing them to withhold even more of our hard earned money. By giving the drivers more papers they feel that they are doing us a favor, a good thing - in reality what they are doing is demanding that you work more hours (3-4hrs/night OR 21-28hrs/wk) and drive twice, and sometimes three times as much each night (more $$ for gas) for the same amount of money that we were all making before the changes.

Also, for those of you concerned about your safety and seek out gated communites to live in for that extra piece of mind that you won't have any bad people coming into your neighborhoods - ...I've got some bad news for you too! Tampa Bay Times currenty has a convicted felon delivering their papers under someone elses name to a gated community in the West Pasco area, and this has been going on now for quite some time now. I wonder how the residents of that, or any other gated community for that matter would react knowing that while they were sleeping Tampa Bay Times has given a known convicted felon a gate code to enter into their development.... Anybody that gets one of those routes with a gated community has to be bonded, and there isn't a convicted felon alive that can get a bond - that's like allowing a sexual predator to live right door to school! YOUR SAFETY COULD BE AT RISK!!

and for you Tampa Bay Times customers that request a special delivery instruction like: deliver to front door; deliver to porch; and/or deliver to garage/carport that aren't handicapped in some way, shape, or form - shame on you, get your lazy backside off the couch for a little exercise to walk out to your driveway to get your paper! For those of you NOT handicapped that insist on the special delivery instructions should be charged for that because it futher delays the driver to have to get in an out of their delivery vehicle to bring your paper to your "special spot" and with all of the changes quite frankly their will NOT be enough time in the night for every driver to throw all of the "special deliveries" and all the rest of their papers before the time alotted before the drivers will get charged a $1 complaint fee for a product we're getting paid .05-.09 cents each to deliver - ANOTHER RIP OFF that screws the drivers

Please consider these reasons an extreme that a local advertising company has gone to to stay in business and compete with competitors like The Tampa Tribune. There are several unhappy drivers that feel tremendously taken advantage of but can't leave because they are handicapped and this is the only job they can do or they have a "REAL" job M-F 9-5 and they need this job to supplement their small income.

After reading this do the right thing and CANCEL your subscription to the Tampa Bay Times!, ...or if you were considering subscribing to the Tampa Bay Times - DON'T DO IT!!! ...if your living in a gated community right now Tampa Bay Times could be putting your safety at risk - BE FOREWARNED!!
