I signed up for a Kaiku card in april and had my tax return sent there on March 4, 2015. I paid a few bills and my account was frozen. I didn't have the required docs to unfreeze the account so on March 26 I was told that my funds was being sent back to the IRS and it could take up to 8 weeks. I have been in contact with the IRS after 7 weeks spoke with agent Dean who verified my funds was never returned. I contacted Kaiku and Bancorp after waiting 7 weeks and being advised that it was only a matter of the IRS accepting the funds and now I"m being told I have to contact the IRS and have them send an indemnity letter or a letter of intent.
As the process involves not only returning the funds back to the sender, but involves multiple steps between KAIKU, KAIKU's issuing Bank (The Bancorp Bank) and the sender of funds (IRS). We understand that you were advised a time frame of 8 weeks for the return to be processed, but the process heavily relies on the IRS. The bank will debit your Card account once they receive approval from the IRS. The request to return the funds was sent to our issuing bank (The Bancorp Bank) and the process is now reliant on the IRS to accept the funds.
KAIKU had handled the account as required by the enterprise guidelines and is no longer in the position to provide further information regarding the funds status. From here forward the IRS will be your most accurate source for information on the time frame to receive your funds.
I was never given this information and I have been in contact with Bancorp and Kaiku. I called the IRS again adn they said that was false. A letter doesn't have to be sent in order for the funds to be received so I called and talked with Grisella a so called Supervisor at Bancorp who get telling me to contact the IRS. These people are thieves it's now 8weeks and I still haven't got my money. For weeks I've been staying at hotels with my kids because I have not received my money so I can move. These people don't care. Since March no letter was ever mentioned and now that the 8weeks are up they all of a sudden need a letter
