The Chicago School of Professional Psychology Reviews

  • Jul 3, 2014

I applied to and was accepted into the Chicago School of Professional Psychology three years ago. After applying for and being approved for Financial Aid I was assured that a stipend check would be sent by the school to pay for books.

After two weeks of the course went by I had still not received the check and was falling behind in the course work. During this time I was in frequent contact with the school. They told me that the check had been sent. When I informed them that it had not arrived I had to play phone tag with two different financial aid officers since one quit in the middle of this process.

One Friday morning in the third week of the course, I was informed via e-mail that I was withdrawn due to not logging on to the half-credit course. I was told when I called them no appeal or grievance was possible. I was infdormed I owed them no money. The following January I received a bill for 4,000 dollars from FedLoan for a course I spent two weeks in.

The school received four thousand dollars to teach me a program they threw me out of after two weeks due to their failure to send me a stipend check. One year after I was withdrawn I received an electronic deposit for the stipend I should have received one year earlier but I was not notified and had to track down who had put the money into my account. I am still paying on this ridiculous loan.

I have contacted The Department of Education and Senator Blumenthal's office which sent me to the Western Schools Association which told me I should have filed a grievance or appeal with the school. One might recall I was told there was no appeal by officials of The Chicago School.
