Beware

I would do some research before spending any amount of time trying to help this woman. I don't see her as reputable, nor knowledgable in the rescue of displaced or abandoned pets.

I fostered one dog 'through' her, and tried to help in transport as well. She is vague, does not work with Rescue or Transport organizations who specialize in pet rescue and transport. She does nothing to speak of regarding compensation for the transport of pets, and she does nothing to qualify the people she has to help her.

I had my very first contact with Kris Kelly when she called my cell phone after work. A group of fellow animal rescuers had been involved in trying to get a dog who was chained under a junk yard car freed. Kris Kelly had been networking the dog as well but in no way did she say the dog was going to be taken in by THE KRIS KELLY FOUNDATION. In 48 hours myself and fellow advocates had the dog freed from the chains using bolt cutters, transportd to a vet and fully vetted (meaning vaccines, fecal test, neuter, bathed, boarding overnight, etc) our vet bill was $400. Come to find out, she had gotten in contact with the person who actually had found the dog and told her the dog could go to HER trainer for "free." We didnt think the dog needed training and wanted hm to just relax and go to his adoptive home but since it was "free" we said ok.

The dog was then transported from the vet to the training facilty where we were advised the cost would be $60 PER DAY. We had just paid his vet bill (with only $50 donated directly to the vet) so we had no funds to pay for training. We advised the trainer that we would have his adoptive parents pick him up that night. That's when I got the call from Kris Kelly. First she asked me "what's going on with the hound" I said "you mean Kanoa?" She said "oh the dog has a name already?" So rude. I then proceeded to ask her "Oh so are you the rescue that is backing this dog?" She said "absolutely NOT."Second she began going on and on asking ME about how we are going to pay the trainer. I said that we ddnt have the funds to pay so the dog is being picked up tonight and going to his adoptive home (the adopter of course was fully screened, home checked and is a close friend). She started screaming at me about what a "sloppy rescue" this was and was going on and on. I said if you are not backing this dog and we dont have the funds for a trainer why would you have us take the dog there? She had no response other than to blame me for everything and say this isnt how we do rescues. I am not even sure why she got involved, she had no contact whatsoever with a dog but thought it was ok to boss everyone around and have the dog go to a trainer which we were told was free. She ended up hanging up on me.

Two hours later, we looked on her Facebook page and she posted her PAYPAL account asking for DONATIONS for the dog. She also told my fellow advocate that she "wasn't goig to release the dog from training." I had to send her texts stating that the dog was chipped to me, therefore legally my dog and if she caused any problems with the dog being picked up I would go there personally with police. This woman latches herself onto any rescue that is "high profile" or getting a lot of publicity and then adds her name and her paypal address to get donations. She is the rudest woman I have ever spoken to in rescue. The fact that we (just regular people NOT a rescue) had the dog off the chains and fully vetted in 48 hours is NOT SLOPPY. I cannot believe she posted asked for money. She knew the dog was being picked up that night and had zero involvment in his vet bill. Since this happened I have spoken to many people all who say the same thing, she latches onto rescues to try to get publicity or one person told me she donated and has been trying to find out where the money went or what vet the dog had seen. She also told my fellow advocate that they had $30,000 in open vet bills to pay. I'm pretty sure she is just trying to get any donations she can get at this point but people pledge and donate for specific dogs not just an open general vet bill that no one knows what the charges are for. I also think it's very shady that she has people dontate via her paypal account - if she has such a huge vet bill then people should be able to contact the vet directly to make a donation. She should be an open book. Either way, we are very happy that the dog is now in a very loving home and is well taken care of. I would never contact Kris Kelly again or have anything to do with her foundation at this point on.

Kris Kelly, the founder and owner of The Kris Kelly Foundation, is one of the most dishonest 'rescues' in town. Kris Kelly is not her real name, nor was she born in CT. as she claims. Her real name is Alicia Cozolino and she was born in the Bronx. Any one who lies about their entire past and life, obviously feels entitled to lie about their rescue and what they do in that 'rescue.'

Kris Kelly has pocketed donation money intended for rescue animals (names available upon request with documentation proving this). She has a shopping addiction and spends the fundraising money supposedly raised for ill animals, on herself. I should know, I used to work with her! At her fundraising "garage sales" are a joke! She stuffs all the cash into her pockets, never allowing any one to count the money with her at the end of the day. She dumps dogs and cats onto people willing to foster for her, thinking they're doing a good thing for the world, then she doesn't get them vet care and manipulates the fosters to pay for the vet bills instead.

She rarely feeds the foster animals from her stash of free food she gets from Natural Balance. She also has been known to sell bags of dog food and bags of treets which she received for FREE. A complete violation of the terms of the Natural Balance agreement in donating food to rescues.

This woman not only is a sociopath, but she twists and turns events, talking behind reputable people's backs, trying to pit one person against another in order to cause such confusion that the blame and fault end up pointing elsewhere. She is a master at this. Currently there are over 50 people complaining about this foundation and "human being." She continues to try to write blogs and join other websites to cover up these rip off reports, so that people won't see her name in a bad light and find out the truth. People DESERVE to know the truth!

This woman has NO business in rescue. She is too self-centered and desperate for money to think clearly. She needs to be sued for defamation of character, for all of the reputations she has tried to destroy with her made up stories and lies in the animal rescue community.

We are on to you Kris Kelly. You can run and you can hide, but we will continue to expose your fraudulent practices. It is our right to warn innocent people who donate to you, who don't know any better. You have been trusted for the last time. You should not be in the rescue world. I hope that karma comes back to you 1000 fold for all the animals you've killed too early, neglected and for all the human lives you have stomped all over and tried to destroy as well.
