The Manor Restaurant Reviews

  • Dec 4, 2014

We booked our daughter’s wedding for September 14, 2014 at the Manor. We met with the Catering Manager At least 4 times before the Wedding date. Prior to booking the date we asked many questions regarding food, guests, alcohol and bars, and Bridal Attendant. When we booked the Contract as well as their menu and website advertise "Premium Open Bar w/ Red & White Wine, Domestic & Imported Beers, etc." and also a bridal attendant and Hors devours for the bridal party. During our four visits we asked about different liquors that would be on the bar and were told they would be there. We asked for wine on the table and told yes. Their menu also states red and white wine served at the tables. We specifically asked by name of different premium liquors that would be at the bar. We were told yes. We were also told that there would be two or three bars. We also asked for a sample of the wines that were going to be served. We had dinner at the establishment and Roman personally brought a bottle of each red and white to our table. So basically everything that we asked when we booked we were given answers where in agreement with our questions. There were no issues until the Wedding Day. When we arrived the bridal attendant showed up after 20 minutes we had to wait outside the door. The bridal attendant was unprofessional and rude. She brought us inedible food. Then acted like she would get in trouble to bring something else. The food during the cocktail hour at the carving station was Leg of Lamb and flank Steak which were so over cooked they were garbage. There was only one bar all night which was a picnic table set up in the cocktail room. There was cheap wine that sells for on average of $4.99 a bottle or less and three beers to choose from. The liquors were not premium at all, they were Well & Call liquors which are nowhere close to Premium liquors that they advertised and there were two women who were not at all trained bartenders serving drinks and when I asked for a premium liquor they said the same as the bridal attendant "this is all I have". The night of the wedding we brought it to Roman's attention about the wine during the cocktail hour he told us that he did not have the wine he gave us. He brought a different wine but only for our table. He did not have enough for the other guests. Guests that I paid for. Even the dessert and coffee were served 45 minutes before the cake. By the time they had the cake cutting must of the guests had left because they had their coffee and dessert and their definitely wasn’t any after dinner liquors and Cognac offered or served. The service that was contracted was not the service that we were given. The Manor sold us a package and did not deliver to us what we paid for. We have tried to resolve it directly with the Manor and have not any resolution. We have contacted the better business bureau and the Manor’s response was that they wanted to resolve it on their own but again no resolution. We were contacted by the Manor and then they do not call back as they told us they would. We were embarrassed in front of our friends and family the night of the wedding. There wasn’t any reason that most of the wedding was spent arguing and trying to get the service that we paid for and still didn’t get it. This issue remains unresolved and is affecting our family.
