Deborah Joy Block is one of the most inappropriate crazy individuals I have ever met in my life, and that is saying a lot. We took a couple wedding dance lessons with her back in 2010, It was one of the strangest and worst experiences I have ever had. She spent most of the time that we had paid for lessons talking about her extreme political views - so contentious and inappropriate for a couple who just wants to learn a wedding dance and happens to have the opposite political views.
Also, she had absolutely no respect for the country song we had chosen as our wedding dance. She didn't like the song and instead put on a crazy Celine Dion tune, grabbed me (the bride) by the arm and twirled me around like a madwoman, practically tearing my shoulder out of its socket. In addition, she grabbed my *** really hard. I am not a prude, but this was so unnecessary and made me feel extremely uncomfortable. If you check out Wedding Wire reviews, you will see that there are other complaints of her slapping the bride's ***. Why is this necessary - does she have some sort of a ******* ******?? I feel like I should have reported her to the authorities because the whole experience made me feel so very uncomfortable and upset, but instead I just fired her as our dance instructor, and fortunately found someone who actually taught us to dance for our wedding and beyond.
Does Deborah know how to dance or how to teach dance? Absolutely not. She is clueless about dance. She can't dance to save her life I'm afraid to say, and she certainly does not know how to teach it either. She kept telling us to do some sort of Ricky Suave move, when all we wanted was to learn how to dance to the romantic country song we had chosen as our wedding tune.
We recently ran in to Deborah at another venue, and I can confirm that she is still extremely confrontational, inappropriate, lacking in social skills, and worst of all, can NOT dance!!
Wedding couples, if you really want to learn a first dance for your wedding, please stay away from this crackpot. She will only waste your money and try to talk your ear off about her very conservative political views.
