TNT Mega Store, Inc. Reviews

Today I had the misfortune of dealing with TNT Games of DeKalb,IL. A video game business based in Rockford. I'd done a cash trade in for items including video games, a PSP gaming system, PSOne controller/memory card, several PSP games/UMD movies, and DVD movies. The exchange took place on 3-10-15 at 5:25pm at the DeKalb location. I was paid $22.23 in cash for merchandise sold, but was not given a rundown by the cashier/manager of what items were itemized as part of the trade for cash. Later inspection of the receipt revealed items were I was paid between .12 cents and .25 cents for the majority of the items, including DVDs and PSP UMD movies they sell for roughly $5. That is an outstanding profit that warrants inspection. They also paid me $1.00 for a 2bg memory card for PSP which they sell for $10. When I asked to speak with a manager regarding the amounts paid out the cashier was evasive and only supplied me a name 'Steve' and would not allow me his phone number, only the number for the Rockford location. So I left a message for a returned call. At 12:02pm I received a call from a 'Restricted' number and answered and proceeded to be berated, swore at and called named by this alleged chain manager, 'Steve.' He would go on for nearly seven minutes in a demanding and threatening tone of voice explaining that as customers we're not allowed to question how they run TNT Games. After having the 'F' word used on me twice I decided to hang up the phone. In order to file a police report about the incident, I still couldn't get a name from the cashier at the DeKalb location when I stopped by there and relayed what had happened on the phone.

On my way to the DeKalb Police Dept I called the Rockford store to get contact information for 'Steve,' but was denied by the female cashier who answered. When I stated to her it was for a possible police report she became hysterical and didn't want the police involved. I spoke to an officer at the DeKalb Police Dept who referred me to the BBB to file a complaint. This business is relatively new to our small town and does offer competitive prices for buying their goods, however the trade-in for cash amounts need to be investigated and explained to customers and their evasiveness when customers ask to speak to an authority figure needs to be examined by the BBB. There is little reason to resort to offering guests trading in merchandise between $.12 and $.25 and to deny them proper contact info when questions arise that need management attention.
