In response to the heinous and greed-based actions of the BLM (Federal Bureau of Land Management) against a Clark County family (Cliven Bundy), all levels of Nevada State and Local government have abrogated their responsibilities to serve and protect the interests of their citizens. When Bundy family members (including women) and protesters were inappropriately tazed and tackled to the ground by BLM agents, calls to 911 were made requesting medical assistance. Allegedly, the 911 operator told them not to call 911 again, and if they did, they would face ""federal charges."" Since when is any dispute concerning 911 a ""federal"" issue?
I know that Las Vegas Metro PD covers this area of Nevada. When I called asking for more information about emergency services to Bunkerville, they said they are not handling it and referred me to a Lake Mead police department. The Lake Mead police department said they were not handling it and referred me to 1-877-423-5817. When I called, it went to a voice mail: ""Please leave a message for the Trespass Cattle Information Line."" So, in effect, the State of Nevada and Clark County has abandoned it's lawful duty to provide emergency services to those in the Bundy Ranch area of Bunkerville. What a pathetic, shameful display of cowardice and irresponsibility. There should be civil suits filed against the BLM, Clark County and Las Vegas Metro PD.
The Coup de Gras that destroys all credibility of Governor Brian Sandoval, Clark County Sheriff Douglas Gillespie, and every other sellout at the State and Local level are the words of Clark County Commissioner Tom Collins. After Piute County Utah Commissioner Darin Bushman spoke with Collins to voice his concern with the strong arm tactics of the BLM, Collins called all of the ""folks"" from Utah ""inbred b******"" and if anyone from Utah was coming to Nevada to support the Bundy family, they ""better have funeral plans."" Collins went on to say that Utahn's should ""turn their asses around and mind their own fucking business."" What a classy way to talk to a colleague.
The only thing Collins said to Bushman that had merit was his critique of Clark County Sheriff Douglas Gillespie, saying he was ""too spineless to excercise his jurisdiction.""
Nevada citizens should take this matter deadly serious and take immediate steps to bring accountability and integrity back to our government, because they are not looking out for us. They have proven to be pawns of the federal government and who knows what oil, water and land interests that are behind this assault on Cliven Bundy and his family heritage that dates back to 1877 in Clark County.
