Transportation Corridor Agencies Reviews

I live in Colorado and travel in many states with toll roads. When I rented my car at the airport I ask about toll road fees and was given a card with information for paying "One-Time-Toll" fees. The Orange County CA Toll Roads system should be avoided if you are a visitor on vacation. Also, it would be beneficial for them to evaluate how other states, with high user satisfaction ratings, manage toll road fees. On Friday morning I used a small stretch of road from the I-5 onto the 133 and exited at the first exit and then immediately entered the 133 again and drove to Laguna Beach (approximately 2.5 miles of toll roads in each direction). On Sat. morning I called the phone number for The Toll Roads and discovered they do not take calls on the weekend. From the message I listened to I learned I needed to pay, as I was attempting to, or receive a violation. I downloaded the available smart phone app and tried to provide the information needed to pay required fees. Since I did not know at the time exactly what toll road I had used and the exit and entrance roads used I could not pay form using the toll roads app. Then I went on to the website with my smartphone and looked at toll road maps and determined I must have used the 133. I then found that I could select "Unknown" for entry and exit points. Then I paid the requested fee of $9.68. The whole process was frustrating and time consuming.

A few days, later when I had access to a computer, I used Google Earth to figure out exactly where I used the Orange County toll roads and determined that I had been charged too much. On Tuesday when I returned to Colorado I called The Toll Roads to see what their records indicated I had used and to see if a credit was available. I waited 15 minutes on hold for a customer service agent. When the agent took my call and we began addressing the charges she had a very unwelcoming attitude concerning the matter. This process for 5 minutes of driving time on the toll road was not of any value to me. The issue is that we owe for using toll roads and just want an efficient method to pay a fair and reasonable fee. I spent way to much time trying to pay what was due and paid more than I used in services. I will not enter onto a toll road in Orange County CA again and will save myself much time and frustration. I hope this message saves others some time and trouble.

I was recently in California for a job interview when i was prompted by my navigation to use a toll road (i was not aware it was a toll road until it was too late). I come to the booth and try to pay with a card but was informed that they dont accept credit cards (WHAT??) So i took a slip of paper from the lady at the booth saying that i have to pay it within a deadline which was impossible for me because i was out of town in a hotel without a comupter to use to pay the bill. I get home and try to call in to pay the bill and the number i was given to call prompts a message that says "sorry your call cannot be completed as dialed and hangs up" So i did some research and found a different number to call and got the same results. since then i have tried to call the numbers numerous times and a 6 dollar toll went to 50 and then to over 100 dollars and still no answer from this company.

I have put in a rebuttal and hope anyone that reads thisdoes as well. This situation is a show of unethical business practices from the toll roads and should not go unheard. I will still be willing to pay my original toll of 6 dollars but will not pay the additional charges as i made multiple calls and no one ever answered.
