Online scam for floral deliveries. Needed to send sympathy flowers to two addresses in a neighboring state. So we googled "city, state, zip, florist". Several came up so we looked at the items on four or five of the sites of the first page of results. Prices were quite a bit lower on the one called "Troy's Florist".
Each item had to be a separate order, even if it was to the same address. Therefor, the credit card info was given twice. We were desperate for time so we just wanted to finish the order to make sure the grieving received the items and messages on the day of the funeral which was the very next day.
Both items were florals of different types with a figurine included of religious relevance, costing $70 and $105. There was also $15 delivery charge each. were not sure why yet, but the recipients picked the gifts up from the florists themselves. after seeing pictures of the items, what they received were of about a $20 value. So the difference was POCKETED, and most likely the delivery charge as well.
Charges hit the account the very next daY and the company name was "Americana Roses". Several other "florist" names have been reported with the same company making the charges to accounts.
Key words to look for: Order Online 24/7 Fresh flowers delivered daily. Send flowers from the Best florist you trust. Same day flower delivery. (items look just like items from another site viewed prior to this one)
I ordered flowers for a good friend whose mother passed away. I searched for a local vendor to place the order and was directed to this website (www.troysflorist.com). I telephoned for the more personal touch as I wanted something extra special. I had the flowers sent to the home address so my friends would have them as they went through the emotional drain of laying a parent to rest. I discovered almost 2 months later they never received the flowers! I immediately tried to contact this vendor who advertises that they "reply within seconds" to email. I received no reply so I telephoned. They told me they would have to "look into it and call me back". Two days later I call them as I've heard nothing. They tell me the order is marked confirmed and their local vendor is not answering them so they must be out of business. They said the local vendor agreed to give a refund so they will now issue a refund.How can this be if they are out of business now? Please note, this is two days after I filed a dispute with Chase bank regarding this transaction. I then said I wanted the flowers sent anyway and they told me they have no vendor to send the flowers. My friends live in the Chicago area. I questioned, you have no other vendors in Chicago? They said no. It is apparant that they do not have any vendors in Chicago (or anywhere for that matter) and this is a common thing for them to do. Please be careful when sending Sympathy flowers. This is obviously a scam of theirs to represent themselves as a local vendor which they are not. Read their contact page, after all this I read it again and it states they are local but doesn't state where!! This company is a complete scam and needs to be shut down. Please do not involve yourself with them as they will not deliver the service they charge you for.
