Hung up on

Called them to see about a cash pay surgery. They tell me even though I am going to pay all cash for my surgery that they will not do business with me because my current insurance is medicaid. I said I don't understand. I am paying cash so why should It matter who my insurance carrier is. Shr repeated herself. I said "I still don't understand" she hung up. I called again. Spoke to another woman. Got the same result. She could not explain it. She just repeated herself like the robot that she was. They lost a customer or two.

I totally feel ripped off. Ripped off because I had to cancell my surgery because the employee who was suppost to verify my insurance benefits did not do her job? At my consulation visit, I was told that it was out of network and I would have to pay 2500.00 and I said ok.

So the day before my surgery, I had to have a procedure to see if I was eligable for the Lap Band. The surgery center called and said that my fiancial obligation was almost almost 5500.00. I told them that I was told it would only be 2500.00 because it was out of network, they told me that it was in network so i was responsible for the charges.

I immediately called the person that told me that price she responded the next day and said she was sorry she made a mistake and did not know that Great West was a part of Cigna,, What,,, this is your job? She also had the nerve to tell me that actually was a good deal because it covered everything and I would not have any charges later and they were going to do it without financal charges.

I have wasted money on pre-op food and post-op food and supplies, not to mention the mental disress this has caused. I was told the day before surgery, you can imagine I was totally disappointed. I had already told all my friends and family about my new journey to better health. Looking forward to not having to take medicine anymore after the weight loss. To most that is probaly not a big deal but a payment from $60 which i was prepared for to $120 for 4 years is a big diference to me

I think True Results should be held accountable for there employees that don't know how to do there jobs..

Went to True Results 6 weeks ago & arranged for consultation with Dr Nicholson. I went to his office & he was called out 4 times before ever finishing what needed to be said. He didn't even say good by or anything. At that time I was should have recieved a blue book regarding the diet & surgery prep. I did not recieve this book until the Friday before my Monday 1:45pm surgery appt.

Then Dr Nicholson called me a liar after I told him I had asked my pain management people to fax over a letter stating that I was under their care & they would take care of my post-op pain needs which is exactly what his assistant told me to do! I was checked in, paid 3500 in co-pay & sent back to pre-op when he comes over to tell me that it was my responsibility to get all the paper work from pain management to him. My pain meds cannot be increased as I'm maxed out on what they can legally give me.

He called me a liar so I had the IV removed & dressed with all the people & Dr Nicholson telling me to re-schedule the surgery??? Like I'm going to allow this arrogant wanna be dr do surgery on me after he called me a liar!! His office has no communication! I was on the phone for 2 weeks every day getting other dr's offices to fax over all the test results he needed for the surgery. And according to him it's my responsibility to do what the blue book tells me to do whether I had it or not. Guess I should have pulled it from the sky!

And something is wrong with his ability to write narcotic perscriptions as he told me that he cannot write schedule 2,3 or 4 prescriptions! He said pain management could write me additional scrips which as I mentioned before they cannot legally give me more drugs!

I cannot understand why a phone call couldn't have been made the week prior or even the morning before the surgery and why they would put me thru all the hassle & financial situations. My husband took 5 unpaid days off work to be with me after the surgery! This experience has been so rude & unprofessional! He basically told me I should do my own surgery! Whatever the hell that means?
