today, 2/25/15, I took my pickup truck to Tuffy Auto Service to have the oil changed. The coupon I used said they would check the fluids and lub the front. when I got home I looked at several of the front linkage grease fittings and found that none had been greased. My truck has 6. Upper and lower ball joints and tie rod ends. I called Chris back and complained. He had the gaul to tell, little, old stupid me, that they were not greased because probably they did not need it. DAH. let me tell you, that GM put grease fittings there because grease is needed every time the oil is changed. I could not believe my ears. He really had the nerve to say that. What a butt hole. So, I'm supposed to drive back several miles so he can have the mechanic do what he didn't do in the first place? At the time of the oil change, he identified about $550 of repairs that he felt were needed immediately. So, I'm supposed to trust a shop that doesn't even know enough to grease the front linkages when they have it on the rack? And then first argues with me about whether I was even right about it not being done. I would advise that you carefully evaluate whether you want this shop to do any work for you. OBTW, I pulled the front wheels and greased the front myself. i wasn't wasting my time to go back and make believe they did it right. Although, that is supposed to be in the mission statement.

Get a written estimate. Better still go elsewhere. Do not trust Tuffy nat all.

I answered an ad to become the new Service Manager because I am employed by a private company that exposes businesses for the crimes the commit against customers and the public. I had been waiting a few months to apply because no positions were available, but when I was called in for an interview by the Store Manager Bruce Benjamin, I first hand saw what the rumors were talking about. As the new Service Manager, I would witness alot of wrong doings to customers and its own employees. Parts were broken in cars and hidden to show as if the customer would be to blame and it was all too familiar with all the reviews of this place in the past.

The previous manager Stan was diagnosed with Chrones disease and had alot if issues, but I found that the employees and his Store Manager had a personal vendetta to get him fired for that same cause. It was easy to fire someone when he was emplyed at $900 a week without having to employ him on the books for any reason.

As part of the evidence that I downloaded onto my hard drive, I began to see that the manager was paying alot of the employees under the table and writing them checks ever tuesday. The business was evading payroll taxes and the manager made it very clear that he had no intention of putting anyone on the payroll, with the exception of a couple of employees. According to the IRS and State of Florida, 4 men are on the payroll and that was less than half that I witnessed. Over a long period of time, Tuffy Auto was responsible for evading hundreds of thousands of dollars in payroll taxes and unemployment taxes and the manager running the store is a criminal. Any time that you puprosely become involved in something this extreme, you are liable for crimes and penalties.

If a business is ripping the government off, what will they do to the customer? I was able to get what I could out of the business and walk out and move on from this potential disaster becaue of what it was doing to its customers. I had no control to help, but I am warning everyone to clearly stay away. I left with diginity and the right to seek penalties for what this business is doing to the public and the State of Florida. Not one employee has signed any 1099 forms or presented with an offer to become part of the business with tax forms. People are still being paid illegally there and when I left, I was owed 2 weeks of pay for the week I started and the week I finished. I was able to gracefully collect one weeks pay, but I am still owed one more week.

The business is in turmoil, the manager is a crook and if the owner of the company knows about these wrong doings, he is just as liable for the penalties and jailtime as much as the manager Bruce Benjamin is. Given what I have read on the internet from the manager at this Tuffy location, he has accused me of being disgruntled and a criminal myself. If some people in this lifetime want to pass blame for their wrong doings, that is clearly a guidance to disembark from what they have done. How could i be disgruntled when I was hired to expose them? I left knowing this shop needs to be shut down and I am assisting the government in doing that and bringing this manager to justice.

Stay far away from this company because I have witnessed them ripping a few customers off during the 3 weeks I was there. I can't say one good thing about this place and the other reviews are legitimate and I am hoping something happens soon to this employer because they arent even honest within themselves.

My son went in for a leaking hose. They talked him into having two hoses, a flush, and a reservoir being replaced not even the radiator being replaced and attempted to charge him $769.00. I talked with a reputable repair shop and I was told it should have costed $400.00 tops including labor. When I called to stop the job they claimed they would have to charge $250.00 for two hoses to be changed. The hoses should have been no more than 30 minutes labor. They are dishonest and unscrupulous in thier business practice. Don't patronize them.
