Went on line to file my federal tax . Paid by credit card, and Turbo Tax collected the moneies 38 dollars. After payment followed instruction to print a copy of the paper work (nothing) but a request to pay turbo tax again. Last year I paid twice at a cost of 70 dollars this year if I pay again it will be at a cost of 76 dollars..

I have followed all instructions to print the paper work so I can file. I have gone to the account settings. I have selected print center and from the drop down box selected print. No printing just another request for a payment. There is nowhere that allows you to show you or anyone has aleady paid.

I started my return on line at Turbo tax promised a price of around $50 total. I get to the end and the State ends up costing me as much as federal. It comes to about $72 for the deluxe edition. I see you can buy the cd at Walmart for $49.99 which includes the state. So I get to spend an hour putting all my info in to what I think will be a reasonable priced tax software and when I get to the end I find out I get to pay extra for the state. This is total crap and if you dont know any better you will spend an extra $22 for doing the form on line. They are counting on that I assume. Dont use this software. Its time to send a message that we wont put up with deceptive practices.

I did my taxes using turbo tax. It would not go because last year my taxes did not go and were not filed, I got no notice last year telling me it did not go and i was charged for both state and federal. This year i was charged 91.79 for use of Turbo tax. When i got my charge statement it had 97.79. I had to mail in this years taxes along with last years. I don't kinow what is going to happen. I tried to get i touch with Turbo tax and when i finally did both times i got someone who said "I don't know". Never again will i use Turbo Tax.

I went to buy TurboTax Deluxe (which always included the state version) as I have for many years. But I discovered the priduct marketed is not the same as years past. The Deluxe version is anything but Deluxe.

You buy the Deluxe version and discover it doesn't offer Schedule C,D,E,F support. And the state version is not included. Intuit kindly offers you the software upgrade for these taske for another $40 plus another $30 for the state software.

This is "bait and switcheroo!' As only a big corporation can do. I am switching to (((competitor's name redacted))) tax software!

Pigs get fed; hogs get slaughtered!

I have been a loyal user of Turbo Tax for over 20 years, and an online user since 2008. That loyalty has most likely stopped as of today for the following reason:

While preparing my taxes as usual in Turbo Tax online, I was surprised and shocked when after about halfway through entering my information I was forced to upgrade from the Deluxe version to Premier (due to preparing a Royalty entry for Schedule E, I assume). In researching the problem, I found out that Intuit/Turbo Tax people decided to arbitrarily and without notice to their customers/consumers not only increase the price of the product, but also that they removed several items normally used in the Deluxe version (specifically Schedule C, D, and E). I also saw that they offered – as compensation for their actions – a $25 cash back offer (refund) to customers who used a previous year’s Deluxe product (2013) and this year (2014) had to upgrade to Premier. Seeing that, although I was still upset at the ‘surprise’ upgrade, knowing I’d get a $25 refund from Turbo Tax I decided to continue on and finish my tax preparation online and e-filing.

Imagine my surprise then when I tried to take advantage of their “mea culpa” offer (*after* I paid and completed my e-filing… they said you have to use the upgraded version, used a 2013 Deluxe version previously, and have filed your taxes before you could apply for the $25 refund – all of which I had done), only to find out that the $25 refund they offered does NOT apply to online users!! So my question, rightly so, is: Why not? Why are we (online users) being punished for using the product online? It still was a “bait and switch”, and was totally unexpected and without reason (other than the company admitting their error, I found out later), and ALL users were affected… not only the CD or download users.

Why then does Intuit/Turbo Tax feel their online users should not receive the same monetary savings/rewards/compensation that others do? Online users have suffered the same issues – being forced to upgrade – that the CD/Download users are.

Had I known I was going to be forced to upgrade – and then they weren't going to honor online users the $25 refund – I would most certainly have gone elsewhere. It cost me an additional $16 to upgrade, the extra cost for the added difference in sales tax, plus the extra time, effort and energy for me to research on what happened. Additionally, the number they have listed to call to inquire about this issue is a waste of time – you don’t even get to speak with anyone! You get an automated recording telling you to leave you phone number and they’ll call you back. You don’t even get an option to hold! I'm very angry… on several levels.

Not providing the same compensation for ALL their customers is not acceptable, and is blatantly discriminatory.

Because I feel so strongly about this, I intend on warning everyone I can in every venue possible. I will NOT be using Turbo Tax ever again. Not providing the same compensation for ALL their customers is not acceptable and is blatantly discriminatory.

Hello, my name is Orysia Chymera. I am writing to ake a complaint on a internet tax service, Turbo Tax. They had a special, no fees, zero for federal, and zero for state. I did my taxes with them 2 weeks ago, and was charged 77.00. I tried contacting them, but could not get any email information, only a support chat. There were no phone numbers, or emaill address to get a hold of anyone. To me, that is false advertising. Plus they wouldnt e-file my taxes, like they did last year. I had to print them out and mail them. I didnt even know that, until I had received an email from them to print and mail my papers. I could have done all my taxes myself, but I needed the money sooner. Now, I have to wait anyway, and am out 77.00.

6-8 hours of my weekend wasted by TurboTax Product Support. 6 calls. Each call, must leave call back information since they are expriencing "heavy call volume", then wait for call back while maintaining access to my computer. 1st call over 2hours on the phone, trying all kinds of fixes..... not corrected. Eventually tried to transfer me to Tax Support. The call was dropped during the transfer. Called back and was told Tax Support was actually closed now.

Next day, 5 calls back to TurboTax. 5 dropped calls. 3 dropped when product Support tried to connect me with Tax Support. 1 call dropped while Product Support was trying to stay on the line while connecting to Tax Support. And 1 call dropped trying to maneuver through the automated directory.

Way too much wasted time with no resolution to consider using their product again.

Unfortunately, I am trying to file amended returns and would really like to leverage the original filings needed for the amendments. Otherwise, if this was just to file a new tax form, I would have bailed long ago.

I too have used Turbo Tax for many years with no real problems. This year though, I was charged over $70 for a tax filing not due to Schedule C but for extra money I make sometimes, this year just short of $200 but I do always report it. I got through almost the entire preparation before they put any notification about this-plus the state tax went way up too. The other thing was the entire software this year was not very clear-while it is not complicated to use or understand, I did have to go back several times because it kept skipping over certain areas and autofilling info that I did not need this year. Last but not least, some changes occurred when I logged in, in December, for some healthcare tax info which could not be found a few weeks later in mid-January, and Turbo Tax also determined my status with the healthcare as well. Since I always efile with no problems, this year I had to send in my Federal forms, with no explanation as to why this occurred and their FAQ was no help too. All and All, this was a very poor experience, very expensive and not up to the standards I have previously enjoyed with Turbo Tax. I too will go elsewhere next year. Very disappointed.

For the last 6 years I have filed my income tax with Turbo Tax for a fee of around $29.00. My returns have always been the same with a Schedule C. This year the company is making an upgrade mandatory to Home and Office without prior notification for $79 or an increase of $50 over last year.

This is a giant bait and switch scheme and is outrageous as they know how hard it is to switch vendors. I will switch next year but everyone has to know that their Customer Service basically told me "that is tough - it is $50 more this year"

Stay away from them.

We tried to file our tax return and TurboTax refused, saying it was an amended return and the IRS wouldn't allow e-filing for amended returns. But, we had not e-filed anything before. And, we were able to file an extension with the IRS, which the IRS accepted, so it wasn't the IRS that stopped us. There was no ""initial filing"" that prevented us from filing an ""amended return"". The fact is, TurboTax has a messed up software that falsely claims you filed a return when you didn't. And you can't contact TurboTax to get any answers. When you call the 800 number for TurboTax, you get a contract worker who really can't help you. They would not acknowledge that the problem was with the TurboTax software (even thought they could see that we had not filed an ""initial return"") and they couldn't fix it. Eventually, the person admitted that the software might be at fault. They sent us a download that didn't work. It wouldn't let us file the return, and now all we get are alot of excuses and ""not my problem"". We will never use TurboTax again. They produce a crappy product and then hide so you can't get it fixed. Total ripoff!
