While investigating US Leads and prior to my execution of the agreement, I asked Monica Potter of US Leads many questions. I confirmed that the prospect knew we were coming to talk about reverse mortgages, and verified that all telemarketing laws would be followed. I was told that this was the case and all federal and state regulations would be adhered to. I also inquired as to whether US-Leads is affiliated with any other entity. She stated no. In fact, they have many other dba's.
We entered into the agreement for 20 verified appointments and sent the check as requested (would not accpet credit cards). The check cleared and we received what we thought would be six qualified appointments that were scheduled on over the next 3 business days. My loan officers went to each appointment to find that the prospective clients did not know we were coming. None of them remembered having any conversation with anyone about a reverse mortgage, but three of them stated they had spoken to someone from Medicare or about Medicare. Three others did not remember speaking to anyone about an appointment for anything.
Over the next three days, we received 9 more appointments fro US Leads with the same results – either no recollection of a conversation about a reverse mortgage appointment that alledgedly ocurred on the previous day, or recollection of a call that had something to do with Medicare.
They sent me a couple recordings of the appointment sets and then stopped responding to my requests. The callers accent was so heavy, it was clear that the lead did not know what they were agreeing to, but for no reason at all, they asked the lead to confirm the call was not about Medicare or Medicaid, and that is why some thought the call WAS about these benefits. This is a complete scam. If you are talking with any lead company from the Frisco, TX area that requires payment by check up front, STAY AWAY! It appears they open new dba's frequently in several different industries so it might be a name other than one I listed.
US-Leads Promises ready set appointments for you if you are in the insurance business. They promise that they will send you ready set appointments with people who are awaiting your arrival to talk about life insurance.
First of all, to start they will only accept a minimum of a twenty lead order and will only accept a prepayment with no credit card. That why when you realize its a scam you are out the money. This is what I was sent.
All of our Final Expense prospects have the below criteria:
• Verified to have a Checking or a Savings account
• Prospects are between 60-80 years old.
• We will verify their income level
• Confirm what current Life Insurance coverage they have
