I was a company driver for us xpress for a year. i checked into lease perchese becouse i wanted to start my own bissness and got an ok deal through them.

I recieved a parking ticket in baton rouge La becouse i parked at a dead end road at the entrace of 3 truck stop with no parking avalible. I delivered and when to Memphis,Tn deliver there at company yard. (close to home)

They gave me a load to Pa to drop off at company yard. When i arrived at yard. The safty directer called me into office and accused me of being unsafe driver (clean record) and pulled my contract and and gave me 100.00 to find a way home to Arkansas. I had to use every resorce i had to come up with a rental (600.00) for my stuff to get home.

i was in Memphis,Tn prior 80 miles from home. Instead they waited till i got to Pa to pull contract over a parking ticket. over 800 miles away. paid over 20,000 dallors for the truck. not recieve nothing back.

I drove for Us Xpress in 2007 and had to get off the road due to a family issue.I did everything I was supposed to....cleaned truck took it to the terminal checked it in etc...I was off the road from September 2007 until January 2014 at which time I got on with a company that had 222 trucks and started driving again.

I called UsXpress because I really wanted to get back on with them.I thought they were an excellent company to work for.I spoke to a rehire recruiter and asked what I needed to do to accomplish my goal. She said I would need to drive for a major carrier for 3 months and then contact her.I told her the company I was working for had 211 trucks(was wrong they have 222)she said yes that makes them a major carrier. She was wrong I guess UsXpress doesn't consider companies major carriers unless they have at least 250 trucks.

So I drove for the company for 3and a half months called the recruiter again and again told her they had 211 trucks and she said ok that's fine and great you have enough time in now.

I was set for orientation on 04/28/14.I opted to drive to orientation instead of riding the bus and was told to turn in my fuel receipts for reimbursement which I did and was told it would be payed on my first check.

I passed my drug/alcohol test,my physical,my background check and my road test yesterday.

I signed more documents today watched videos,etc..and as I was eating lunch I was paged to come into the orientation office. When I got in there I was handed a piece of paper with an extension number on it and told to go into the back corner and use the phone to dial the number.

I called it and was told they were not going to hire me because I didn't have enough recent experience with a MAJOR carrier.I tried to explain that the recruiter knew how many trucks the company I was working for had before I quit them, drove almost 300 miles and spent $100 in gas to get here and she said I am sorry but the decision has been made and your orientation is over.

I asked when I will be reimbursed for my gas and she told me she is sorry but since I was not hired they will not reimburse me.I told her that is ridiculous you were willing to pay $120 for my bus ticket here and another $120 for one going back but you won't reimburse my $100 for fuel even though I am being refused over a company having only 28 trucks less than the 250 trucks you consider to be a Major carrier and she told me no I am sorry that is our policy. We only reimburse fuel if you are hired.

I don't know about the rest of you drivers out there but I feel this whole thing was ridiculous.I mean I was out there driving a TRUCK over the road for 3 1/2 months it wasn't like I was peddling down the road on my bicycle from state to state pulling that 53 footer and making deliveries!!!

I have a clean MVR and DAC,nothing on my CSA or PCP so a good record.

I called Werner and they had me to stay at the motel I was already at with USX and I will be starting orientation with them tomorrow 04/30/14.

Needless to say I made absolutely SURE that it doesn't matter that I was 28 trucks short of a major carrier!!!!
