I have been a customer of the Walmart Money Card for YEARS> recently I noticed Direct TV on my bank statement. I have never had Direct TV in my life. An ex boyfriend had stolen my card number and used it to sign up for Direct Tv and they refused to refund the money. Even worse they continued to charge me to the tune of $480 even after I told them it wasnt my bill or me who charged it ( I am a woman, he is a man using my card and the bill is in his, a mans name). They didnt care took the money and never saw it again. I disputed it with Walmart Money Card and they were NO help. They barely spoke English, and sided with the company. Even though the bill is NOT in my name, its in a mans name. They let them take my money and I never saw it again.... They got the money and I got screwed!

Walmart Money Card aka Green Dot Bank have blocked my card once my tax refund was loaded onto it. They claim they need to verify my identity before releasing the block and that this will take up to 10 days. I believe they do this to many people in order to use the money interest free for 10 days. My identity was verified when I opened my account and several other times when I have called or logged into my account online.

Every time I call the customer service department they tell me I have to wait for an update and that I cannot speak to anyone in their investigation department because they are in a back room and do not take phone calls. They can only communicate through email, but they would request the process be expedited.

Honestly this is rediculous. If they would let you know ahead of time that your identity needed to be verified by sending them your id and social security card I am sure everyone would do it BEFORE their tax refunds were deposited.

I am a single mother of four boys. I need this money. My gas and electricity are both going to be disconnected tomorrow because I was counting on this money to pay those bills. It was -3 degrees where I live today. These people are unethical and it literally makes me sick that they can get away with this.

My debit card expired 1/31/2015. After several attempts contacting the company, I received several different answers to where my card was or is. One called placed said it was sent in December...did I check my mail. Then it was it was sent out two weeks ago, "Let me report it as never received." I said no I was not going to report it as not received. The only reason I was so adamant about not reporting it not received is that the same thing happened to my son. And he waited 17 days after his card expired to get a new one. We share the same address.

The first one they technically sent never came. I'm not playing that game. Well up shot of this is they cancelled my card today without my permission and $15.00 later I will have my card Federal Expressed with a tracking number. They could not give me a tracking number on the original card they sent out. According to them it's not sent out USPS. Scam! Scam! Scam! Once I get my card...I'm done with this company. I know and they know they never sent out my new card. If you call customer service...tell them to grab an English Dictionary. They act like they don't understand one word your saying.

Walmart money card blocked my card and says its being investigated they aske for id and social. I sent it they are saying they didn't get it their saying it take ten days to investigate it . they are saying they didn't get my information

I had my tax refund direct deposited onto my Walmart Money Card by Greendot, which is a company of GE Money. After it became available, I went to use my card, and it was declined. I attempted this twice more, before finally calling the customer service line. I waited on hold for almost an hour and half before someone finally answered. First, the lady told me there was no problem with my card, and that my tax refund was available. After assuring her that my card wasnt working, and that I had tried it multiple times at different transaction points, she finally said the problem was there was a security hold on my account, because the tax refund was a larger deposit than I normally do (well duh). Apparently the only way to resolve the hold is to fax them my ID and SS card. After they receive it, it will take a minimum of 10 business to lift the hold. According to her, there is no way to speed up the process, or to speak with anyone in the verification dept. Apparently. I can't even check on the status of this, and the only way to know if the hold has been lifted is to keep trying the card.

This is absolutely ridiculous and unacceptable. I have used this card in the past with 0 issue, why now do they need to confirm my identity? Unfortunately when I googled this problem, it has happened to tons of people and apparently I am in for a long haul of playing games and having to send my info to these people multiple times, before anything gets done. Reading reviews, it has taken some people months to get their refunds released from this company. Clearly this is a scam to build interest on MY money, that they are holding hostage. I only wish I had googled this prior to giving them my money.

Do NOT do business with this company. They do not care, they aren't helpful and it's clearly a scam!

Hello All or to whom it may concern,

I hope you are able to read this report before you have already been ripped off. I purchased a money card to use for online purchasing, that way i can keep my personal ones private from online hacks.

It seemed like a simple purchase you, go to a physical location, buy it and call for your personal information they need to send you a card with your private info. it wil be at your home in hopefully 10 days.

It was NOT, then you call to ask why and they dont pick up the line to help you. The website has never been active to review my own account. So I waited 2 months later I call to ask about my account, spoke with a rep and she's trying to teach me how to bring up my account online, advising me of how to do it. even though i've explained multiple times i have a mac, a pc and 2 smart phones and not one can bring up the site. After that she says my account has $21.00 in it after i have paid $34.00 and not made ONE SINGLE PURCHASE.

My suggestion to you is just give cash as a gift or go to a regular bank... THiS CARD is a STRAIGHT OUT THIEF....

Me and my wife each have a card one broke ordered a new card went to use the one that is not broke and can't use it card declined had over 400$ on the card and can't even use it walmart money card sayd I could not use my money on the card for three weeks I will not be using walmart money card anymore and whoever uses walmart money card is highly advised to get there money out while they can before they get ripped off too.

I have had myWalmart Moneycard for 2 years and have never had a problem. The day in question was April 18, 2014. I was in Walmart trying to buy groceries for my 4 children when the cashier notified me that my card was declined. EMBARRASSING! She couldn't tell me the problem so I had to step out of line and call the number on the back of my card. Needless to say, there had been a block put on my card without any knowledge. A block that can't be explained except it would take 3 to 5 business days to investigate. 3 to 5 business days to investigate a block that shouldn't be there in the 1st place? Customer service which no one seems to speak proper or good English, they put you on hold for 15 mins or more to do whatever they are doing, can't seem to answer any questions in regards to my account, and on top of that all my funds go onto that card which leaves me and my 4 children with no money to eat, drive to work/school, or their recreational activities. I am beyond furious with this card and customer service inability to resolve the matter and others matters that have been noted within others complaints. I wouldnt recommend this card to anyone to use. This has been a nightmare for my kids and I.

They closed my account and gave me the run around aboutggetting my 4,000$ had me spend more money to get 2 reload cards that can't have money transferred to them ,wont give me the 100$ that was charged wrongful to my card and said i have to wait 3-5 days for FedEx to get me my card then i have no more money cuz i spent it all on getting prepaid cards that don't work when i have a sick child who has sevear heart problems and i cannot get her meds cuz they f* me over on my money all the way around. Were calling a laywer and sueing the f* out of this joke as company never again will i have a card thru them never have i been more f* in my life.

Walmart cancelled all foreign debits from its card without any warning . I was traveling in France at the time and this caused great hardship and resulted in making me miss my return flight to states! Still stranded in Europe and at the end of my tether.
