On Feb.3,2015 I went to Wells Fargo atm and wanted to get out $700.00 from my account (not Wells Fargo account) I used my debit card to from a different bank. On the monitor of the atm I was asked if I agreed to a $3.00 atm charger and I always agreed. I entered $700.00 and as soon as I did I received my debit card and a receipt back.

But no $700. On the atm monitor there popped up, this machine is no longer in use and said I should try another Wells Fargo ATM. I went to local Wells Fago and explained to they what happend.

They got rude and said that the atm was not their responsibility. I told them well the atm says in big yellow and red letters Wells Fargo ATM. I told them when their atm person does a report on that machine it's going to show $700.00 too much.

They told me I would have to contact my debit card account, but all my debit card company did was follow through with my request for $700.00 from my account.

They said they are not responsible for the atm. Now they have my $700.00!

I live on social security month to month and that $703.00 deducted from my account really hurt!

I would like to report a bait and switch going on at Wells Fargo in Orange, California. I went into the bank intent on opening up a Savings account, or at least reviewing the minimums for a Savings account. I was greeted by a banker, Myron, who took me to his desk. He said the minimum for a Savings account was $300 or $25 with a checking account and you transfer at least $5 from your checking to your savings every month. I said I did not have that and would have to return when I had the stated minimums. At that point, Myron stated to "give me what you have". I said I only had a few dollars and he said that was fine. He took my .95 cents assuring me that I had ninety days to deposit the said minimums. He verbally stated December 22nd, 2014 as the last day to deposit the required minimums. I returned on December 22nd, 2014 only to find out all the funds cleaned out of my account, and they refused to refund my money. AVOID!!!!!!!

They do not add credit cards to your online account , presumably so they can find you not making payments and then send the account to collections with out notification. The end result is that your credit becomes damaged and they can charge higher interest rates. When confronted on this they threaten to ban you from ever having a Wells Fargo credit card ever again.

Here’s a little consumer head’s up I’d like to give everyone. It involves shady lending practices by Wells Fargo.

A year ago, we purchased new carpeting for our house. The carpet company offered us 0% interest for 1 year and we took advantage of it. The loan was financed by Wells Fargo Bank. We make payments on the loan every month – flash forward 1 year. I go to pay off the balance as the term of the loan is up. It’s a few weeks after the end date and I figure I will pay a month’s interest – not great, but no big deal.

To my surprise, there is over $1700 in interest that’s suddenly been tacked on! I call immediately and it turns out that in the fine print, if you don’t pay the loan off completely, the charge you the ENTIRE AMOUNT INTEREST ACCRUED OVER THE YEAR – at 27%! And it doesn’t matter if you miss it by one day or have 1 cent left in the account. Boom! They got ya.

At no time were we apprised of this clause or were the terms explained to us. It’s seems like they are hoping you don’t notice it. On the phone they said there is nothing they can do about it - those are the terms, you signed it, tough luck. We stupidly assumed that this was like any other similar offer (like the ones we get every few days from Capital One, etc) where you START paying interest when the promotional period is over.

I think this is predatory and misleading. Take aways:

Always read ALL the fine print on credit cards, small loans, etc.

I had been warned about avoiding the big players: Wells Fargo, BofA, Chase as they are all part of the financial community that drove our economy off the cliff. Time to move to a local bank or credit union.

Buyer beware. If you’re not paying attention, you’ll pay another way for sure.

Guld Breeze, Fl bank Teller took my money from my account and then said customer cancelled check. The teller, Jessica took it out of my business checking after it already was pending I saw by mobile banking. It DISSAPPEARED next day and I called the call center said it doesnt just dissapear and I called branch she said customer cancelled check, Customer called up there in rage and when I came up there, they put my money back made available immediately including cash that was also part of the deposit. I am going to the district manager. I called Jesssica after client droped my service. She talked to me like I was a handi capped special needs person mentally,a nd said my name slowly 5-8 times talking over me. The staff is very sick. Thanks.

I was put into a non-cancelable 48 month lease, I am a 21 year old that was going in to open a business account and ended up on the phone with a Nicholas Hoff from wells fargo merchant services. He convinced me into a 48 month lease but failed the mention it was not cancelable and they market the device to be worth 3000 when the device is nothing more than something you would see in a normal gas station.

I am now going to be in over my head or just continue to pay a 78 dollar a month lease ( which I was told it would be less but they dont mention the additional fees)

I would love to hear from someone regarding this issue.

I was overdrafted 8.81from my checking account becausdee of a 14.00 dollar trasnaction the bank said that

i did > I was not on my computer at that time i was asleep or doing something else when it accured.

the money in question was 14.00 dollars they said i did not have to begin with but it showed up on my account and was in my savings. well I did not give permission for that to be transfered back out of my checking back into my savings account. The lady i spoike to said it was conisdered a wash and that it wasnt reallly there to begin with . Then she arued with me and said she didint say that and the fraud department investigated it and said that it was done from the same ip address. neither did me or my fiance they never conssidered that it could have been done from a hacker from somewhere else and not within the same household, my fiance is a heavy sleeper sometimes due to seizures. Why would anyone transfer money back and fourth from savings to checking then back to savings agaings. The 14.00 dollar fee caused me to be overdrafted by 8.81 fraud department told me there was nothing else they could do they considered the case was closed. and i even called san fransisco and other customer servies from wells fargo and nobody will admit that it was a bank error and not my fault. ive gone threw all the proper channels and told my side of the story sounding like a broken record over and over again. i tried five times to get help and nobody would help me .these people have caused me overdrafts in the past and left me stranded at a gas station for 3 hours becauese my card was turned off with my money still in the account after they took out overdraft fees but i still had money on the card. I had to call road side assistance to get help. this bank has done me wrong time and time again enough is enough.

This division was Wachovia and has buying Non Prime loans for many years and servicing them according. Now Wells Fargo purchased Wachovia several years back and has been "dumming down" the collections departments all across the country. They stated this year when they started "recording all calls" in and out from collections so they can monitor calls.

What they should have said was "we really want to screw over the collections reps and make sure they start looking for new jobs".

With wells they have reduced the bonus structure to almost nothing and now with the Nice recording they have made it nearly impossible to get a bonus since they don't want you to collect, they want you to empathise with the Non prime buyers who they sold High interest loans to, so they can keep the loans going as long as possible and get all of the "penality interest and fee's off these customers who can't pay their monthly loans. Most of the employees I have talked with at different sites are fed up and are looking for new jobs, since the positions here are tenative at best, unless you want to work for nothing and risk being fired for just about anything since they reveiw calls at random and most calls they fail you on for really stupid things.

When Wells fargo purchased Wachovia company, their own collections dept was defunked since they had screwed it up, and since purchasing Wachovia, they have done the same to this collections dept. So as a Subprime buyer, you really are having it tucked to you with the penalities, fees, and high interest rates on loans with interest rates starting at 12% and going upwards to 22%.

Most of these people are ignorant of how simple interst loans work and they are being bled with penality interest since they can't pay on time. Also remember, if you default on the loan, and the car is sold at auction, the Deficit bal will be your responsibility, and if you don't pay the deficit bal, wells send IRS a 1099-C and you are taxed on the balance unpaid as income, and IRS will get their money out of you, so as subprime buyers you are screwed.

And the company is buying deeper into the subprime market....

Back to the buyers ....Secret...Wells Fargo is trying to keep from having lawsuits filed from these subprime borrowers since Wells is aware most can't pay for the loans they have been put into, and just want to string them along as long as possible before repoing them.

To the buyers...the key to this is KNOWLEGE....here is the link to one of the FDCPA web sites: http://www.fdcpaviolations.com/fdcpa so you can file complaints when your rights have been violated....remember...Wells records every call now, so be sure you know what you're doing since your call is recorded and will be used against you.

As Far as the employees "we are screwed" and need to be looking for other jobs NOW since the economy is picking up and wells fargo is "dumbing down this dept".

We paid what we were told by Wells Fargo to pay as trial period payments before our loan was modified. Recently, We applied for a loan to help with our grandkids tuition and were denied. BECAUSE Wells Fargo reported our loan as late during the modification trial period although we paid it on time every month. The credit bureau report also says Wells Fargo reported to them that our mortgage had been 6 months behind. Now that is not true because we would definately have been foreclosed on. Talking to them they tell me over the phone, according to their records...that my September loan payment wasnt paid until January. She is reading off a computer. I'm telling the woman that wasnt true ,,of course she could find no reord of a letter about a loan 6 months past due. Then she asked er regarding 6 months past due. Wells Fargo is doing nothing to repair the damage done by false reporting and akso reporting trial period payments as deliquent loan payments. Additionally, the federal government has ASKED banks to NOT report trial period payments as deliquent credit. Of course Wells Fargo does, along with added lies and wrong information to the credit bureau. I would really like to know how to handle this situation.

My son and his wife were selling there home in Ft Worth Texas, they listed it at $265,000 and had two offers (one at full price) the other at $255,000 within a week. The buyers from another state were working with Wells Fargo mortgage and were approved for $300,000 so everything was lining up until their totally worthless apprasier under measured the home by almost 200 sq ft then used comps from a totally different neighborhood valued the house at $216,000 Amazingly horrible unrealistic value. In order to keep the buyers my son had to lower the price of the home $20,000 because of the apprasier. Then two days before closing Wells Fargo lowered the approval amount to $216,000! My son had already bought another house packed everything up into shipping containers! Fortunately the buyers told Wells Fargo to go to h*** and paid cash for the house.

If Wells Fargo had employeed a efficent appraisier none of this would have happened. As a home seller you are at the mercy of many BAD apprasiers who can ruin otherwise above board home sales. On the bright side three families have sworn never to deal with Wells Fargo in the future for any financial needs.

To Wells Fargo "Karma is a b****!!"

In 2010, I went into Wells Fargo Bank to cash a $1000 personal check from my brother drafted on a Wells Fargo account. I was told that I would have to open an account to cash the check and was met by an account representitive. I agreed to open an account and deposited the check rather than cashing it. They gave me a debit card and and told me my account would automatically deposit $100/mo into a savings account.

While my account was down to $120 I made two small (less than $10) purchases for motorcyle fuel while travelling. Some time later, I recieved in the mail overdraft notices that totaled over $200 for making these fuel purchases. Consequently, Wells Fargo had wiped out my savings account of $200 and continued running up charges against me.

Now in July of 2014, I get calls from collection claiming that I owe Wells Fargo Bank $97 when in reality Wells Fargo Bank owes me over $200. This is a total scam. All I did was go into a Wells Fargo Bank to cash a personal check drafted on a Wells Fargo account and was denied and conned into opening a Wells Fargo Account of my own that was corrupt from the beginning and designed to scam me by running up false charges for an overdrat that Wells Fargo Bank caused.

HomeQ Servicing took over our mortgage in 2003 and it started out ok . Then in 2004 i suffered injuries which put me out of work. HomeQ started to demand that we pay a high down payment to help catch up and then the monthly payments doubled , in order to get caught up. This when on for over 24 months .

They refused to work with us anytime we got in a hardship and got behind. It was always go on a payment plan which always had a high down payment of at least 3000 dollars for late fees and extra fees they tacked on for other things. Then the monthly payments were between 1100 and 1350 a month to catch up back payment for at least 18 months.

There was also a loan owe to Wells Fargo that they wrote off and then sold to North Star Capital Aquisition. Because i was unable to pay it they took it to court and it was put down as a lien against the house , but then Homeq decided to sell the mortgage in around 2009 . Ocwen loan decided to buy it out , but could not do it with the lien on it , so i recieved a 1099 form for around over 13000 dollars ,{I have the correct amount with my tax preparer},so this removed the lien. I checked with Ocwen there were no liens on the mortgage.

Now since then Dillion Law Firm has since still been tryin to collect the amount of money still , also other amounts that were paid and wrote off or paid thur that 1099 form. Yes HomeQ and Wells Fargo have ripped us off plenty and continue to try to do it further. I am on disability now and my was just put out of work for health reasons and we are having trouble no meeting ours bills.

I recieved notice about a year ago that HomeQ might help fipped us off and may owes us quite abit of money back but i lost the letter so no lawyer would take the case. we really need this badly.

I tried to do a modification to my mortgage since 2009. The property values had dropped significantly because we all are/were the victims of residential real estate assessment fraud (this is a process where the assessor and county intentionally over assess your house so that you pay higher taxes - in our case over 100%).

The mortgage and servicing were sold several times. Wells Fargo holds the loan and Ocwen holds the servicing. I tried to do a modification numerous times. The modification was turned down each time. I went to the Attorney General. I went to the Consumer Finance Protection Bureau (don't waste your time). The modification was continuously turned down.

I was told by Bank of America (who I had tried to do several modifications with - again don't waste your time) that every modification that was submitted to the investor was turned down. I asked who was the investor - Wells Fargo.

When the servicing was sold from Bank of America to Ocwen, I tried to do a modification; again, and again turned down.

Then I tried to do a short sale, the house sold, but the short sale was denied 10 times.

Why? Because, I wasn't 90 days delinquent on the payments! Who turned it down - Wells Fargo (Des Moines, IA).

I have a choice: 1. stop making payments until I am 3 months behind for Wells Fago; 2. be unemployed living in my house that has sold - but the short sale hasn't been approved (and become a prisoner).

It doesn't matter if you qualify for any of the HAMP, HARP, or Hardships (relocation, more bills than income, sick relative). Until you are 90 days dlinquent Wells Fargo will not approve the sale (another one of their checklists).

My recommendation, don't get a mortgage with Wells Fargo and make sure they never own your mortgage.

After reading some of your reports on the big banks, I could not agree more. I believe Wells Fargo probably uses well designed software that takes particular advantage of the timing of credits and debits to a bank account. I have been banking with them for 23 years, and they have made thousands of dollars from me in fees. These are perfectly timed and transactions are posted when your account balance is low and they have the advantage of hitting you with fees.

When the timing is in your favor such as a deposit, anything but cash will be delayed. But if the timing includes debits, then they post immediately and charge you the fees. Confronting them will get you the equivalent of a very kind apology and the assurance that they care for you, and oh yes You are not getting back any money and if this happens again, we lie in wait...

I might agree that Banks are too big to have that personal touch where they might know their customers by reputation or longevity and apply that knowledge to each account based on the reliability of the customer. But that is not the way it plays out. I bank with 2 other banks, and never have they done to me What Wells Fargo has.

I suppose they figure that iff you are not a large customer (millions) then you aren’t worth any special treatment. I believe they also figure that is too much of a hassle for anyone who has been with them for a long time to make a change simply because of some overdraft fees. But they need to know that this gets old. I am on the lookout for something better and more customer-centric.

Our mother passed away on January 9th, 2010 and changed her WILL 5 days prior to her passing. She left behind two Wells Fargo bank accounts and 6 months prior to her death, these bank accounts were POD to the Arizona Humane Society. Our family can't get any truthful information as to how and why?

After she passed, I became the Personal Representative of her Estate and I am also one of her living children. I was able to obtain her death certificate and provided it to a Wells Fargo branch in Phoenix, AZ in order to close out other bank accounts etc., our mother had with Wells Fargo.

For 4 years, I have been sent statements, tax interest documents and letters regarding these bank accounts. The Arizona Humane Society was never made aware of these accounts for 4yrs by Wells Fargo. Wells Fargo updated my address every time I moved for the last 4yrs, These bank accounts sat in dormant, collecting interest. The POD paperwork was not completely filled out. There is no Arizona Humane Society address, phone number or EIN# which is needed in order to notify the beneificary (POD). I was told by a Wells Fargo Branch Manager, Mr. Dennis Chrisite in Marietta, Georgia that it's not needed. Then how does a bank notfiy the POD receipent? I was also told by the same branch Manager that Wells Fargo was waiting for the Arizona Humane Society to contact Wells Fargo. How was The Arizona Humane Society to know that a non-profit organization was named POD of these bank accounts?

On May 23rd, 2014, I receive two letters regarding each account, that they were closing them and mailing me a cashier's check for each bank account to my current address. There is no indication of a POD or Arizona Humane Society on these letters. We want to know why Wells Fargo is changing it's tune when I was told by the same branch manager in Marietta, Georgia that these letters sent to me were for my information, which does not add up to what the letters state.

On June 18th, 2014, both accounts were debited out, including the interest, and as of today, no one from the Arizona Humane Society, nor Az Humane Society's Attorney, has been in contact by Wells Fargo, nor have they recieived the cashier's checks.

Where the money?

Our mother's legal name is Ms. Barbara Battey and those bank account was intially set up under my legal name of Bobbi Battey. No indication anywhere on those bank accounts as to what Ms. Battey's legal name was. Why is that?

I get a letter dated June 30th, 2014 from a A. Garrett, Wells Fargo Senior Correspondence Specialist stating that they can't provide me with any information in which does not help us alleviate our continued frustrations regarding the actions made by Wells Fargo in the last 4yrs.

Our family needs your help please. Thank you for your time.

I found out via the normal mail today that Wells Fargo has taken over $8700.00 of money in one of my three accounts without my permission or without any notice or communication.

The Reason: The account is in my name only with my two daughter as beneficiaries. They are both listed on the said account in their names, followed by "pod" in capital letters. To me that means they are only associated with this account if I die and it defaults to my living trust that I use on all my beneficiaries. They took this money out the same day they received the court appointed garnishment order.

Research: Every site I have looked at with this question says they are not allowed to do this. Talked to a friends lawyer and he stated the same thing. I can't find one location that would allow them to take this money even with a court garnishment order.

Result: I will be calling their legal department (from whom the letter came from) and seeing how they felt obligated legally to do so. Then, regardless of the outcome, I will be moving a very large balance in all the accounts out of Wells Fargo.

Question: Does anyone have a different opinion/proof that I am missing on the legal side ot this? I want my ducks in a row before I call.

It all starts with Russell Render, from the call center in Reno Nevada that works for Lydia. Those are the names they game me and my son. Wells Fargo has cost me close to $875 in late fees and charges today because of my ATM card not working.I called in with my son and was so rudely interrupted and treated horribly. If you RECORD YOUR CALLS LISTEN TO ALL 3 conversations. Russell is an absolute under worker that does NOT listen, he is rude and needs to be fired immediately.

I am closing this account this week because of the ATM not working and because of Russell Rendet and his boss Lydia. They said my ATM card was going to work after a 45 MINUTE phone conversation, and I drove to the Wells Fargo bank, and my ATM didnt work...AGAIN and AGAIN.....Wells Fargo has the lowest customer service amongst the current banks, which there is one at every corner, so I suggest you fire Lydia and Rusell. Or keep loosing people like me!!!I can go on and on about the HORRIBLE service but,

There si too much to list, EVERONE should ban Wells Fargo just by closing their accounts. i am going to close mine tomorrow.

I was reviewing my monthly bank statement online, when I noticed unauthorized charges, that were in code. I contacted my bank immediately to report this event.

Several hours later I was contacted by a representative of my bank, concerning this charge. He gave me the following information: the $41.93 charge was from Wells Fargo, creditcorp Va VACC, with the following trace#091000018712805, and a phone number.

He stated I had 60 days, from the date the charge was incurred to file a report with their Loss and prevention Office.

I was deliberately mislead by this company, and I know by reading several pages of complaints from numerous other people, the very same thing has happened to them.
