XOTIC PC Inc. Reviews

While currently living in Minnesota, I was applying for positions in Lincoln Nebraska to move my career and family.My fiance and I wanted to move back to Nebraska to have our wedding, start our family and raise our kids. After many months and several interviews with multiple companies, I felt the most beneficial for my wife and family, as well as my future career goals, my employment would be best suited for XoticPC. I turned down multiple Job Offers from November to January (start date requested by XoticPC). I was a Chief Marketing Officer and Marketing Manager in Minneapolis, Minnesota for a Fortune 500 Company. My Fiance and I were looking to transition back to Nebraska to start our family and raise our kids. All seemed well with the offer and opportunity at XoticPC, so it seemed.

I spent several weeks driving back and forth from Minnesota to Lincoln, Nebraska to "interview, finalize, discuss" this position and go over incentives, salary, benefits. After months of discussion and lack of commitment on their end, FINALLY we committed on a day I would start. I thought they were being generous with the idea I woud be moving and needed to travel back and forth so many times to settle in. SO I thought.

From day 1, I met their "current" Chief Marketing Officer who was forced to resign due to lack of experience or ROI, so they claimed.His last day was the first friday I worked there. He was with the since day 1 and help build their entire business on the internet. This company is a 30+Million Dollar a year business, selling Custom gaming laptops and pc's across the world. The owner drives a new vehicle to work every day, sits in his corner office and micro manages every aspect of this business.

Day 2, I realize how high of turnover this company sees from all positions of employment. Not looking good.

Day 3, still no conversation or meeting to discuss my position, role, or strategies I shoud work on.

Day 4, I begin to notice a complete lack of importance placed on putting emphasis on where I could fit in and contribute.

I don't need much guidance, mind you I've built a multi-million dollar business at age 24, selling assets and moving to Minneapolis with my Fiance' for her career.

Week 2, I ask and question and begin to take a direction myself on the things I know I can change and contribute with. A pure lack of coopoeration or information was shown from "CEO, COO,GM" on why they even hired me.

I sit at my desk all of week 2 building a proposal I came up with for strategies on new direction, that I found they can capitalize on. No conversations, emails, nothing from any members of the business. I knew something was up from DAY 1.

Day 12, (the second full week), 5:28pm comes around(clock out time) they call me in the office and end my emloyment.

So after moving 7 hours back to Nebraska, 2 week into the position, no correspondence with anyone, drug along, strung along, whatever you want to call it, they clearly were working on a new avenue of Marketing the entire time.

The following was the response when released;

"We hired a Marketing firm, your services are no longer needed"

Me "...that explains why we havent done anything"

Them "We're sorry, it's what is best for business"

Me "I hope you guys do the right thing and take care of me while I look for a new position, I did just move here for this position and put a lot into this"

Them "We will take care of it, I am sure there is something we can work out, I will get back to you, I swear"

Me "I understand if it is a business decision and it is best for business, I hope you guys do the right thing while I now go find a new position"

Them "We will, I'll call you, I swear"

2 weeks later, after multiple emails to them, with no response, I receive this response;

"So after reviewing with Justin, Lindsey and myself, we reviewed industry standards about severance pay. The standard set is to pay 1 week for every year worked within the company. With that in mind, even if we back dated it to when we offered the position at the beginning of December that would equate out to 86% of a days pay. I understand this was not how any of us pictured this happening. I know you moved from Minnesota but from our understanding this move was happening regardless if you had a position with a company. I want to be fair with both sides, business and morale and that is why we decided on going with the industry standard of 1 week for every year. Like I said before I am more than happy to offer out professional reference's to help you acquire a new position. This was not an easy decision to make but it had to be done for the good of the company"

As you can see this is not "doing the right thing" nor is it taking care of the situation correctly.

Meanwhile, in a 250,000 person city, I am still looking and wondering how I will find a position in my Industry and start my family without a Job.

Happy 2015, looking forward to getting married, looking forward to finding a new position, and hoping NO body else gets strung along and Left out in the dark Like I was. If I can help, I hope I did.
