I contacted this company for prenatal dna testing in Feb.2013. Harvey Tenenbaum advised me this testing is very accurate & reliable. And they will also do a post birth dna test to verify the prenatal finding.
After the prenatal test came back that i was the father. I accepted that as fact & started making plans to be a new father. The possible other father & i looked nothing alike and SHOULD have had dna not at all alike.
After the birth in July 2013. And seeing that he looked nothing like me. I had Viaguard do a post birth dna test. After 2 LONG weeks. It came back i was 99.9997% that i am the father.
As he aged, it has become apperant that he is not my son. I contacted DDC. another, highly proffesional company for a (piece of mind) dna test. It came back not only am i not the father. There is 0% chance i am the father.
I'm not sure if i have any legal grounds to sue since they are based in Canada. And, i live in the USA. Viaguard is a deceptive company that is responsible for thousands of children not knowing they're true father. And as many men raising children who are not their's, biologically.
I doubt that i will ever be reimbersed for my finacial & mental loss. But, i wanted to take the time to repost this sad incident to the faithful readers of Ripoff Report. I had checked here, before agreeing to use Viaguard in FeB. 2013 but nothing was here.
So, I dropped of my samples and paid the fee and was given a card with a number and pin to check the status of my test online on mar 12. For 6 days the website told me invalid pin/Id combo so I figured maybe they don't update everyday. I emailed on the 6th day (mar 18) to inquire about the website showing nothing and they said it is a glitch and was fixed now. I check and the status was "pending - samples being tested" and said my samples were received on mar 18 (even tho they had them on the 12th) and the status has been like that for 6 days.. Today is the 23rd. Technically 8 "business days" if you include the day I dropped the sample.
I sent an email last week making sure that it wasn't going to be 7 biz days from mar 18 and I got a reply back saying no it would be from the day I dropped them which was mar 12.
Anyways... I emailed this morning saying today is 7 days I expect my results today so please call or email me. I got a call.... From the receptionist reeming me out about sending so many emails and how do I not understand that TODAY is the 7th business day. I was so shocked with the rude attitude she was giving me and she would barely let me speak. Just got the same generic response I've been getting the whole time "when it's ready you will get a call"
What kind of reputable company treats paying customers like that and lets their staff treat people this way giving the nature of their business. OF COURSE people are anxious to know... If you cant handle calls of those nature then I suggest you find another profession.
I am getting pissed at this point... Not only by how I am being treated but by their whole shady process. Website states 3-5 days but in person they tell you 5-7 days and God forbid you ask a question about your results.
What a joke. I have 0 confidence in this company and now have 0 confidence in the results they'll be giving me (if I ever get them). I wish there was a better way to warn people of their ill practices and stop them.
This company is completely unprofessional. They basically got everything incorrect and at the end they sent the test results to a party that I specifically asked them not to send to. If my experience with this company is any indication of their expertise I would say they probably collect the DNA samples, throw them in the trash and then say you are the father and take your money. There are several options for prenatal DNA testing and I strongly urge everyone out there to choose a different company. I am literally out $800 and now have to complete the process all over again with another company.
I was told to register on line, but there is no site to register. After all the complaints I've read about I guess this is a scram. Too bad there are people out there like that. They will be have to address this sooner or later with the BIG MAN.
I have been waiting over 3 weeks for my results. I have been calling to ask about where my results are but they keep telling me they will locate my file and someone will get back to me. Nobody ever gets back to me. I had to call them back to finally here they were not able to give me any result because there wasn't enough fetal dna and they would issue me a partial refund because they still had to do lab work. I was told someone from the lab would contact me by the end of the day to further explain this and an e-mail would be sent with an explanation. Neither of these options happend today. I called them again before they closed at 10 to 6 and they said results wOuld be going out today and nobody was contacted yet. I asked if they planned on contacting me tonight still and she said yes. Never heard a thing yet and will probably not get that bullshit partial refund for zero results. This company is full of shit probably not even real.

I bought this just to make sure... Test results were scientific and came back real fast. This should be mandatory for all children.
