Across U.S.A. Moving & Storage Reviews

They were a day late showing up, The day they showed up on they were late again. The inventory agreed upon by phone did not match the truck drivers inventory ,so the price of $6000, jumped to $7500. The truck was too small so it took them two whole days to completed the move to Dallas Tx where they loaded the two loads from Houston Tx into an 18 wheeler for transport to my destnation of las Vegas. I informed the loaders in Houston that there were some boxes containing alcohol ,and that the boxes were marked with their contents . I received a call today from josh berry of Acrossusa informing me that they had broken numerous cases of the alcohol , and that they did not ship alcohol, and if i wanted the remaining un broken cases I needed to pick them up in Dallas. Why did they accept the shipment in the first place knowing it was alcohol ?.I am supposed to drive from vegas to collect these items . This company has not performed in an honest and up front professional manner . At the ripe old age of 62, I thought I was experienced enough not to be ripped off, but these guys are very good at taking advantage of people .Dont let yourself be taken advantage of by these crooks.

I contacted This company to move a 1 bedroom apartment consisting Of a kitchen table (glass top) four chairs, living set (couch, chaise, love seat, 2end tables, coffee table (all glass tops 15 boxes I was informed by Elizabeth I would receive 2 large 2 medium boxes, supplied by the driver for free) from Killeen, tx to far rockaway, ny. I was quoted a price that was satisfactory to my budget. The driver arrives and insisted he receives half payment before he begins. He then decides the monies agreed upon was not enough to move the above listed items now increases the price by an astronomical unaffordable amount and both Jason and Brandon state, if you cancelled now we get to keep all monies collected and you get nothing. to add insult to injury the space alloted was not sufficient to accommodate the items listed above. As a result I ended up paying to either leave the bedroom set or the living room set no free boxes, and they would bring the kitchen table and chairs. They had no itemized listing of the items reported no labels. Then the driver tries to force you to sign and agreement for the astronomical fees so he can rent you the space on the spot. Your caught between a rock and a hard space in a lose lose situation for the consumer and the companiy is in a win win.

Consumers beware go with reputable name companies, do your research first and question don't just go with cheap, when it unbelievable it's a guaranteed ripoff! Also they ask for cash, cashier check, or a17dollar fee to use a credit card.

Across USA Moving and Storage Robbed me. They gave me a quote of just over $2720.00 then charged me in excess of $4000.00 and the charges keep rising. They advised for a long-distance move from Illinois to NC they are allowed 21 days to deliver my furniture. They then hiked up my charges saying I exceeding my estimated cubic feet. Charged for tape, shrink wrap, when I was told the movers wrap all my wooden furniture.

They have now billed me in addition to $4000.00 a fee of $595.00 for storage while the wait to bring my furniture. The movers were unprofessional, they arrived at 8pm instead of 10:00am as promised. They left garbage all over my community and left my personal belongings off the truck in the yard. They claimed they could not fit all of my items and had to return and tried to demand another fee for returning.

They now have stolen my possessions. I don't believe they are on a truck or in their warehouse. I believe they hire day laborers and these laborers have intentionally damaged and destroyed my property including tossing items in the dumpster in my community. They are no holding my items "hostage" and attempting to extort absurd amounts of money. These people have all my worldly possessions including my family photos, kids baby books, first shoes, my son's high school diploma.

The are thieves, liars, cons, common criminal whom I unknowingly paid $1411.88 to rob me right before my eyes! When you call Ken the the moving coordinator sends you to a fake customer service line and Josh the customer service manager sits smug on the phone defending their unethical practices. I hope this company burns in hell and so do all the criminal thug, drug addicted convicts that do their dirty work.

I booked Across USA moving company to move my household stuff from Fort Worth, Texas to Seattle, Washington on Jan 25, 2014 by paying $100 deposit. However, after paying this deposit they stopped returning my calls and failed to respond to my emails too. In view of this I canelled my booking by calling them and also by sending a cancellation email to Assistant Manager, Elizabeth Perez and Manager Mr. Daniel Peace as per their comapny's policy. I also requested them to return my deposit. However, till today they have not refunded my deposit and have also stopped returnig my several voice mails left on their telephones. I also told customer service representative to help me in this matter but nothing happened till today.

I therefore warn other people to not to hire their services as they are so low to gobble up even a small sum of $100.

My friend in Austin,TX assisted me in meeting the movers I found online to move my belongings from my Storage Unit in Austin,Texas to my new apartment in Boynton Beach, FL. I only wanted to move my most important personal items and had provided a very detailed inventory list to the moving company. They provided me with a quote based upon that and assured me that they charge by item and not by cubic feet. They further acknowledged that I had indeed provided them with a very thorough list and that the charges would not exceed the quote they provided me of $1,295.

The agreement was as follows:

On July 1st, 2014 , the moving company quoted me $1,265 complete to move my itemized lists of goods. They requested a $100 deposit that day to book the service, which I paid in good faith that this company would carry out the service they committed to.

On the day of the move, July 5th, I unfortunately learned that this company's business ethics were based on bait and switch, fraud, and extortion. Upon arrival to the storage unit, they loaded all my items on to their truck and stated to my friend at the storage unit, "Ok here is the paperwork, we need to call Ms Hasni and get the balance of payment for load up of $598.00 : ( I had paid a $100 deposit, $548 on load up, balance on arrival were the terms).

I spoke with them over the phone and thought I was done...not so.

Next, they move the items out of the unit, once he collects the initial CC payment... they start loading and said they needed to find a box to put some lose paperwork in. He further stated they needed to tape a few things up. A small box and some tape would cost me around $450 DOLLARS????? I was outraged, he called me, she was outraged, I knew the sales rep billed and sold this as $1,295 complete. (I had given them an itemized list of goods and they said I was well within the estimate when Ibooked it.)

Since they HAD me between a rock and a hard place , I almost agreed to pay the extra $450 for a small box and some tape thinking ok, this will be it...I just want to get this nightmare of a move over with...NOT SO FAST...

They begin demanding that because the mattress and my belongings exceeded their truck height maximumm(this was never explained to me, I would be paying a total addittional amount of $2,100 after the $100 deposit and the $548 I paid them on the 5th of July when they loaded my belongings on their truck.

I was enraged at the exploitation which was clearly happening at a very vulnerable place, in between a nationwide move. My friend in Austin,TX demanded that the foreman write NO MORE CHARGES on the myriad of paperwork, and he became very upset when he was called out on this. My friend in Austin,TX wrote down in the paperwork NO ADDITIONAL CHARGES PER BRANDON... this is documented in their paperwork if they chose to reveil it, which I highly doubt they would.

My friend in Austin demanded to know what OTHER charges may be waiting once they start loading (Note they would not load until we incrementally agreed to each upsell). He threatened to call the police at that point if Brandon didn't provide an accurate estimate.

He then quoted me $2,700...

To say the least I was very upset and sickened as I clearly didn't have this in my budget and was completely exploited in an hour of vulnerability. In this moment of distress, I made an executive decision to cancel the job ( despite them having me $100 and $548 into it). My personally had to reload everything it took me over an hour.

Between a plane ticket to Austin and accommodations I spent over $800 to facilitate this... out of my own pocket...

During the escalated scenario... the Foreman threw down his clip board, and threatened to harm my son... he also called his girlfriend a "Bitch" when she was visibly upset over the incident.

Enough said... Sara would have been fair and reasonable if there were additional expenses.. but they were clearly gouging here and exploiting her..

Also in the process thee driver took out an exterior light at the unit...

This was truly a crew of hooligans.

after this situation we decided to look at the BB report and Yelp... they had over 50 BBB complaints...

Not surprising their Yelp reviews were horrible... visibly they have a histroy of scamming...

Here is a link to the Yelp Review... Look at Brooke B's comments.. almost the exact scenario that played out with Sara...

Horrible customer service. Worst moving experience I have ever had and I have moved myself or my children with several different companies at least a dozen times! It started out well with Kenny being very friendly and reassuring but after they came to load it all went bad. The move had already been paid for in full by my son who was moving his things from Buda to Portland they had all his information and had an authorization form initialed by Daniel Peace to charge his card on 6-7-2014. I was given the time frame from 4-10 pm on 6-10-2014 for them to load. They came before noon, I was not available I was at work. My husband was here and they told him the move had only $100 deposit down and they needed his credit card. He had no idea about the details of the move as my son and I were the only ones that were dealing with it. My husband is on disability which is why I was helping my son. They kept telling him they could not load or take things until he provided a credit card. By the time he was able to reach me they had charged our card for half of the proposal. I spoke with the men loading and explained it was paid for already they said they would call office. I called talked to Kenny who said yes it is paid for already. I than talked to Jasmine and Daniel both who assured me that it would not be charged to our card as it was already going to my sons card. They did need a copy of his drivers license I scanned that to them right away. I than called my husband back and said don't let them have you charge the card it is already paid for. I left work to come home, he called me back and said they had things on truck and told him he had to sign papers and they had to keep the card number they had been there for several hours at this point and told him the office would sort it out. They way they sorted it out was to charge our card $1070.53 and charged my son's card which was the one authorized for the move $2039.06. When I saw they did not reverse the charge to us but actually charged both cards I called. This is when they started putting me straight to voice mail or not answering at all. I started calling from a different phone than they would answer but when I gave my name back to voice mail. When I did reach Jasmin or Daniel I was assured they were taking care of it. On 6-20-2014 Danniel said he would credit the card that they were not to charge I asked for an email confirmation . He sent one saying that $732.61 was being refunded! I called and said it was charged $1070.53. He than said well the move is more than we charged him so that is the difference. I told him they were not suppose to charge that card in the first place and just because they decided to charge more that was not ok. They also never gave us a delivery date it was not on the proposal as I was told as soon as it was loaded and back at office they would have one. Kenny was aware that my son was already in Portland OR and anxious for his things to arrive one of which was his Harley. I was told just get the things loaded quick so we can get it scheduled . Than on the 6-24-2014 Daniel said that the authorization that they had used to charge his card was not e-signed. It had been charged though and had been paid from his bank. Daniel said well it was paid but they couldn't acess it untill he signed. I told him no we were done until they credited my account for the full amount. He than said they could not set up delivery until that was signed. When I said it isn't happening until the card is credited he said they would credit the balance from the $732.61. Problem was they never credited that amount in the first place. I than got a alert from my bank that my card was charged the $1070.53 again on 6-24-2014! I called the bank and they said it was reversed. At this point I thought it was resolved my son did the e-sign it was still for the amount of $2039.06. I than called the bank to be sure that it was credited and we found that they had charged and reversed the amount within minutes of each other. They never did credit the first charge they just recharged it! At this point the bank called them, they spoke with Levy Gamlieli who insisted it had been credited it must be our bank that was not showing credit. We gave it a few more days and when it did not post the bank put it into dispute. They showed up to unload on 7-2-2014 and even though we had been billed for a shuttle service and elevator since it is an apartment in downtown Portland the driver was not aware of this. He had to park and carry things to apartment. I called and was assured it was paid for and they would let driver know. I am relieved that he received his things. This was extremely upsetting and frustrating. We are still in the process of resoving the charge to our account . I am sorry I did not read more reviews and research farther I could have avoided a very stressful several weeks and my son could of received his things much sooner!
