I seriously wish someone would have told me this before I bought trees from Affordabletrees.com! The service and product received from Affordabletrees.com was possibly the worst I have ever experienced. I was in search of a privacy screening to block out some unsightly neighbors. I spent months researching the most effective solution to do so. I eventually landed at Affordabletrees.com and was emailing John Slivka who represents the company. My wife and I had emailed John about 20 times before the purchase was made. John had ensured us that this is the best possible move we could make and we would be left with a beautiful privacy screening. What he failed to mention is that after the trees are planted they would go through a horrible shock for the next 1-5 years rendering the solution a complete waste of thousands of dollars. Now, one would expect trees to go into some shock but the real problem with this company is the way the trees are removed from the ground and sold.
Although, I fully intend to pursue this company by any means possible to get my money back what I really want to get across in this post is the reason to not use this company.
Basically, it is like this. This company takes trees that are already planted into the ground and rips them from the ground with heavy machinery destroying all the roots. Obviously doing this will take the tree years to recover and selling these trees as privacy without disclosing this information was a pretty terrible thing to do to someone for profit. Obviously, this is something John Slivka of Slivka Farms would have known about because surely he has seen this 100’s of times. There are so many tree farms out there that can sell you planted trees in pots at very large sizes for about the same price. Please anyone that reads this do that instead, DO NOT buy these trees from Affordabletrees.com, they will look like death! If you buy trees from Affordabletrees.com or Slivka Farms LLC you will be left with dead looking sticks in your yard. This is something you will hate and your neighbors will hate. Also, what is the point at all, you can by healthy trees in pots. I seriously wish someone would have told me this before I bought trees from Affordabletrees.com.
My Horror story goes on here guys about dealing with John Slivka and his assistant Karen Fowler and so far it is ending with lies and unanswered promises. I even offered this company money to expense the labor for them to come get the trees out of my yard and have them planted back in his farm but he declined this. Seriously this says something about knowing the product he sold us is a terrible one too. The guy doesn’t even want them back if I paid him to take them! Anyways, now I get to go to court with this company because they lie to me and won’t honor refund promises made. But really, the point of this Ripoff Report is to spread the word about this company and the products they sell! Just don’t do it!! Seriously, unless you like dead trees buy elsewhere! Buy trees planted in pots! I seriously wish someone would have told me this before I bought trees from Affordabletrees.com!
