I opened the salon 5 years ago and decided to go with AKNAF Salon software because it was cheap and I had a limited budget. A couple of weeks after I installed it on my one computer at the front desk, I bought 2 more computers and wanted to install them there as well. I was informed I had to pay for an upgrade AND for the extra computers (around $600). Fine, paid it, installed it and database is on a Network server. After a year, I have a problem that I can't fix so I call them; they reply, "We can't help you because you didn't purchase technical support". Fine, I paid around $250 for 12 months of support which includes all software upgrades (there were 4 upgrades that year but I never saw a single one of them).
Another 12 months goes by and I have another problem so I call... A guy answers and he sounded a little annoyed that I was calling at 4:30 on a weekday. He looks up my account and says I need to pay (so I did) then he asks how many PCs I have and I tell him 3. He claims his records show us as only paying for one, so he calls me a lying thief and hangs up on me. I start to investigate other softwares to replace AKNAF but the database format this "company" uses is unlike any other and we can't easily migrate the information over. I can't afford to manually move all clients, standing appointments, inventory, financial, payroll, historical data, etc... so I figure I will just hope nothing else goes wrong.
Last week... something went wrong :( My wife called and a man answered. She explained she needed support and he tells her that she didn't purchase the support so she says, "I want to buy 1 year of support." His response to my wife...."Listen lady, it's 4:50 on a Friday and I'm getting out of here. Call next week and talk to somebody who cares." My wife asked for his name and he says, Mome of your business you whiny b****." and hangs up on her.
This company has no right being in business. Customers put their trust into them and have their entire business database locked up in their software and if something ever happened, they would lose everything they have.
This review made me laugh so hard, thanks for the post. I have some experience using this companies products and this guy sounds like a sure fire idiot and moron. All of the their products use either Access database or MS SQL databases and the salon software uses an Access database, just the only most used database format in the whole wide world lol, used by millions and millions of companies and programmers. This guy says the database the salon software is "unlike any database in the world" what a complete idiot. Also on the main screen not any hidden screens but the MAIN screen after you login in the program there is a HUGE BUTTON, I mean it so big you have to be blind not to see it labeled EXPORT DATA. and that is besides the fact that on every report there are several export buttons. I mean this guy is beyond stupid I would not try to support him either, they probably got tired of his stupid questions or he is blind he should not be using a computer in the first place.
