Being from Oaklahoma, I planned to move from California to the Midwest where I could afford to live on my limited SS income.
I located an apartment in Bellevue Nebraska and sent a $200.00 deposit and a 25.00 application fee. The aprtment was rented out from under me even though they were holding my deposit.
I complained and was promised a new apartment with an increase of price, up near $200.00 more a month. It was supect "Bait and Switch". I called "America First Properties" speaking Dora, the regional manager. She promised me an apartment on June 31, 2015 and apologied.
I moved my belongings into a locker in California, gave my car away because I feared pushing it 1,800 miles. I shipped my things to my buddy in Bellevue, bought a one way ticket and flew from San Diego, Ca. to Bellevue, Ne. on June 30, 2015.
On June 31, 2015, there was no apartment as promised ! I stayed with my buddy and his wife for nearly two weeks and was not provided an apartment. Being in bad health and becoming very stressed, I called my son for $500.00 and flew back to San Diego, Ca.
My loss was $1,492.00 and thus, I came back to Ca. to be Homeless. (See my Pictures). A number of Tregaron seniors came to me and told me that Terry Kjenstad had a long record of abusing residents, dicrimination, and being decietful cause the old and disable people health impairments.
My Advice, Stay Away from any First America Managed properties, if their mangers are allowed abuse elder and disabled people like, I was, your in deep trouble.
In ending, my buddy's wife was assaulted by the Terry Kjenstad and her bosses are siding with her. Sick and Inhumane !
