I responded to an ad for a "free" sample of Amora Coffee. They charged my debit card $1. I was supposed to have 2 weeks to decide if I like the coffee and continue with their club or I could cancel nad have no further obligation. I ordered this sample on line on June 14. The package arrived on June 22. On June 24 I called to cancel because I really didn't like the coffee. On June 28, I had a charge of $67.75 on my account. Being Sunday I could not reach anyone so first thing Monday morning June 29 I called the company. The first customer service representative I got said there was nothing she could do about it and the would cancel as of that day but this shipment had gone out. I reminded her that the shipping date was Sunday and the post office doesn't pick up on Sunday so the package was still there someplace. I told her that there were several other stories simalar to mine on their Facebook page so it sounded like they might be doing this on purpose. She tells me they don't have a Facebook page (even though their confirmation email for the sample shipmen tasked that I "like" them on Facebook).
I ask to speak to her supervisor. First she didn't have one and then they were all busy. When I insisted on holding, a supervisor magically appeared. A floor supervisor, Tiffany (no last name, she's "the only Tiffany working for Amora") first said to refuse the shipment and once they received the returnde package she would issue a credit. I told her this was not acceptable and finally she agreed to reverse the charges to my acount right then and asked me to refuse the shipment when it arrived. I pointed out that it was probably still in her warehouse but she said she couldn't contact them.
Well, she didn't reverse the charges and that overdrafted my account. So, now I have a charge for $67.75 for coffee I don't want and $35.00 in overdraft fees. And just to add insult to injury, I get an email from the co-founders if the company telling me that the shipment when out Monday evening (not first thing Monday morning) and again asking me to like them on their Facebook page.
During the month of cancer, Amora Coffee takes donation and send donator 1lbs of coffee for $1.00 When i donated toward cancer cause, and chose the option of not have them automatic re-order for my choice. Nevertheless, three weeks later they automatically withdrawl money from my bank account for a box of coffee that is $69.73. I contacted them and file a complaint that they did not have my permission to withdrwal money from my bank account. Two week later I receive my refund from them however, there is a $10 charge of return sipping that they automatically take from my refund. Beware of this website, it's a scam. The box of coffee is small, and this is not organic coffee. No coffee should cost $69.73.
They don't tell you how much their coffee is anywhere on their website when you sign up for your free 8oz of coffee. When I got my second shipment of what equals 2 lbs of coffe I was charged 67+ dollars. This coffee is no better than Foldgers. Then they promise a free coffee maker but you have to agree to buy 10 lbs of coffee from them to get it. So you have to spend roughly $330 (they do not tell you any of this, just that info is coming soon about it, so you have to buy something from them to get the info) on crappy coffee to get your free coffee maker that I found online for as low as $50 bux (they say it's a $90 coffee maker). I did get the stainless steel canister and coffee scoop with this order. The canister is cheap and can be bought for 10 bux online. The scoop was of better quality (so far). In my opinion this company is shady at best. Stay away!!! Far away!!!!
