Recieved multiple voicemails (robocalls) from Unknown number on my cell with the following message: "This message is for {my name} my name is David J Wake. I have paperwork I need to serve you at either your place of work or residence. If you have questions please contact the plaintiff at 866-948-1086." I called the number. Here is what happened after:
“You have reached Albertson and Associates, please hold for the next available representative”
Guy picks up. Does not identify himself. “Can I help you”?
Told him I was calling in response to a call from David Wake.
Asks for number the messages were left at. I told him.
Asked who the call was for: I said myself and gave my name
Guy: “This is in regards to a legal litigation for a summons being issued out for {an incorrect close to mine} County for theft of goods and services and our client is filing a legal suit against you for non payment so we were calling you as a courtesy to see if you could resolve the matter out of court today with payment for what’s owed”
Me: Please don't call this number again. Gave him number.
They hung up.
They are 100% criminals trying to scare you that you are being sued for officious sounding but nonsensical reasons and to pay them to stop the action. I lost track of how many criminal codes they broke with that one statement.
FWIW: I had already checked with all the local and state courts prior to the call after the first message and my lawyer, I owe no money to anyone and there's no reason anyone would be suing me.
Reported to local police, State DA, FTC and FBI. They are already known to some of these organizations.
