The following post will have explicit language- from the owner of this location:

Matthew Lein called me back regarding an enhancement fee I was charged this month- when I explained that I had specifically asked his wife Brandi Lein about these fees when I signed up and she told me there wouldn't be one- just the $39.99 a month charge to use the gym.

When I told him that- he became extremely defensive because I was obviously calling his wife a liar because he has my contract where I initialed that I would be charged. *When I can find my copy- I will gladly show him that when I initialed there were ZERO fees there and certainly no date for an enhancement charge*

But- he didn't just stop there and say the charge will stay- goodbye- instead:

He then proceeded to call me a c*** repeatedly, a b****, a r*****, told me not to get an attitude with him because he is not my husband and doesn't have to take my s**t among so many other delightfully chauvinistic phrases about my sexuality and sexual preferences and apparently lower gender status and general intelligence.

And the cherry on top: he bragged that he does this often to people and that no one cares. Well I care and I guarantee a lot of people in the world do. Gyms are supposed to be places where you can be accepted and make yourself better- instead this is a hate-filled place with an entitled man thinking he is a god.

I have never been so disgusted with treatment- and I have internet with COMCAST.

When I first arrived to the gym it was lovely. Simple, neat, and everyone was very nice and respectful...uhm very nice to get your MONEY! I am now 7 months pregnant and hand not been to the gym due to illness and symtoms with my pregnancy. I called to cancel my subscription because my spouse and I were moving out of the area and there are no Anytime Fitness in our new location. Being proactive I emailed the company explaining I would cancelling my contract based on when my moving out in January 2013. They wrote back via email at the time, and stated I could not, cancel on the internet, it had to be in writting.

I wrote the company wishing to cancel via letter, and then I was then called by the representative stating..."oh you have to physically come in, and cancel we dont take written requests." although it is on the contract that they do? Also the wrong dates were on the contract, and I was told I couldn't cancel until April 2013 for an 18 month contract, this was back in March.

The contract clearly states you can submit your cancellation in writing if your are more then 20 miles away from any Anytime Fitness center, or moving with documentation.

So we just waited for the contract to expire, and we called in April 2013 the month it was ending to make sure we would not be charged additional monthly fee. This month in May after the contract was expired, they charged our account $59.00. I finally drove out of my way to the location hoping someone would be there. When I spoke to the manager she was more upset than helpful. She stated we dont handle any cancellations over the internet, or in writing and this single sheet of paper wish looke more like a customer suvery, must be filled out for cancellation in person at this location only, and that the cancellation will take an additional 30 days before your account is no longer charged.

We weren't provided any additional information on cancellationoutside of the standard corportate contract given to us at the time of signing. So you guessed it...I will get charged another $59.00 next month! So I asked her to pull my orginial contract for her to read there own policy, and the errors on the contract dates, and asked could I get the number to the corporate office about this policy, and she stated "Oh you can just go on the internet and get it...I dont have their number and I am not pulling your information right now?!

ARE SERIOUS!!!! It's funny that with all this technology such as fax, email, scanning, or standard postal mail, Anytime Fitness does not participate in such uses for its customers to cancel or communicate with them beyond a phone call to the center (which they dont answer) or physically driving to the center to talk to someone (who may not be there). You are better off at any other gym than Anytime with its cancellation policies, lack of customer service availablity and medicore administrative techologies to service its customers!

I will be taking this to court! As a business owner Franchise or Founded, you should treat your customers this way. I won't be joining another gym with expensive lengthy contracts, poor customer service, and illegal cancellation policies. I would rather do P90X, atleast you know how much it costs and can get a money back guaruantee if you cancel the program within the policy requirements. If you must go to a gym do you get a no contract pay as you go like Snap Fitness, or Planet Fitness! SAVE YOUR SELF A HEADACHE!

ABC Financial and Anytime Fitness

After my 1 year contract was up it went to the month to month auto renewal which I assumed was a banking issue. I called my gym, Anytime Fitness who told me I needed to contact ABC Financial to cancel my contact. I followed the cancellation instructions on my contract which gave the option of notify ABC Financial by certified mail of my intention to cancel and I did that. I had stopped going to Anytime Fitness and informed them that I was scheduled for surgery at the VA and would be unable to use the facility until further notice. To my surprise again the monthly membership was deducted from my bank account. I called ABC again and was told they could not do anything about cancellation because I had to go in to the gym and personally and talk to Anytime Fitness and that no phone, email or written cancellation request were not permitted or accepted. I then personally went in to Anytime Fitness and informed them that since I had just finished paying for that month, that would be my last month and I was canceling due to upcoming surgery. Coincidentally that month I added a monthly direct deposit which upgraded my bank account and I was issued a new card and card number. This made ABC Financial unable to access my bank account which infuriated them. All the while I was recovering from surgery, ABC Financial called and harassed me, wanting my accounting number and telling me that legally I had to give it to them! I finally filed a complaint with BBB who informed me that ABC requested I personally go to Anytime Fitness and they would work this out with me. I explained to them the facts and that I would be unable to do that since I was confined to the bed and my house while recovering. After not hearing a word for 2 years from either ABC or Anytime Fitness I was informed that I have an overdue account for 12 months of membership fees totaling $548. I am now disabled and am having a hard time getting Anytime Fitness to honor my Silver Sneakers Medicare card because of these bogus charges and they are informing me that they are going to collections and my credit is now in jeopardy! Both these companies are crooks that use fine print, harassment and unethical business practices to flat out steal! Don’t let them lie to you that auto renewal is not just banking information, it is a way for them to hook you into an unwanted contract! Is this any way to treat a service connected disabled Veteran!!

I joined the gym in May 2014 , on the 3rd .I was going well till the 5th when the owner came and showed me what all the equipment was for and I got a hernia in my stomach , which led to a unexpected surgery , on top of a gall bladder surgery in late May .

I had called in early May tho when I found out I was having surgery to have my account frozen , and the lady told me no problem she could take care of that . In August , late , the owners wife called me to tell me I was in arrears of 74.99 and would have to take care of it immediately or they would send me to collections . It was a Wednesday afternoon , I told the owners wife I would be in on Saturday to fix the issues and talk to them . On Friday they pulled 122.66 off my old debit card ( not sure how they did that because it was a compromised card and was cancelled early on in August , the bank is working on that still as of today 9/2/2014 ) .

I called them and the woman was yelling at me for not taking care of the 94.00 I owed ( again the owners wife ) when just two days before it was 74.00 ... I have filed a dispute with my bank but not sure what they are going to do at the moment ... I called the owner today ( 9/2/14 ) and he says if I don't come in today and fix the new credit card up with them they will debit my account with a nsf on the old card and I will be sent to the credit bureau . I explained I already had asked for the account to be frozen once and wanted everything in writing because I didn't trust them anymore and he laughed at me ....

Anytime Fitness Acworth Ga ... I refuse to continue to pay for services I didn't get and asked to have an account frozen to begin with . It can be sent to the credit bureau for all I care ... life is to short to be bullied into paying for services you didn't get ...

I went to that gym twice and ended up with a hernia in my stomach for not being instructed properly in my honest opinion .

I ate the charges of my surgery for that but I be damned If I pay another dime to people who are rude and unco-operative and can't get their business right ....all they could say was the girl who supposedly froze my account quit after 2 days of working there ...

36 days after my husband joined the Anytime Fitness Cary location, the facility closed. He was told to contact the owner, Kevin Fleming, to obtain a refund. After repeated attempts to do, we reached out to the corporate office in Hastings, MN. I have twice been told that I would receive a phone call back from their legal department, which has not happened. An emailed received from their Director of Corporate Solutions provided absolutely no further resolution. The corporate office of Anytime Fitness is hiding behind the Franchise motto that each location is inpendently owned and operated. I stress to anyone out there looking to join Anytime Fitness, any location, that their corporate office is absolutely useless and does not care at all about their customer, they only care about collecting franchise fees.
