Astromart has gone to far...I was bidding on a telescope and called them to ask about the shipping cost. They quoted me 300-350 dollars.. O.K. I continued in the auction and won..When I went to pay they told me shipping would be 450 dollars, a completely unreasonable amount. I explained I had called and was quoted 300-350 days before the auction ended and Herb York was completely unreasonable and rude.. He just with out cause or any discussion to come to a common ground band me from the site.
I was a member with outstanding feedback for over 15 years. This guy is something else.
Anyone dealing on Astromart will have a good view of it until you have to deal with Herb, his store and his mean nature. I believe the final price for the scope was to low for Herb.. He would not even give me a shipping quote if he had I might have payed it.
I was online shopping for a stereo component. I found it on astromart but it would not allow me to buy it or look at the full advertisement unless I signed up.
The fee to sign up was $15.00 which would be acceptable if the item I wanted was actually for sale there.
Once I paid the fee I was allowed to access the full advertisement to purchase the product.
The advertisment was from 2003, over 11 years old!
I emailed them letting them know that I wanted my money refunded because the item they were advertising is not valid. Its not for sale anymore.
I recieve a smug reply from a person named Herb. He said "not going to happen, you paid"
The I did a search on this person and it turns out he is known for this type of behavior. He never appoligized for the mix up on his site he just seemed to want to hold onto the money like it was the last dollar in the world.
Stay clean of this person and website. He is a con artist.
