Auto City AT Clayton Reviews

  • Jul 21, 2014

I was sold a 2007 Nissan Titan from Auto City of Clayton. Two days after the vehicle had been financed, it was smoking terribly at start up. Diaa, one of the brothers at the lot, had gave my husband and I a thirty day verbal agreement that if anything was wrong with the vehicle he would fix it. We took videos and then took the vehicle back to the lot. Diaa said leave the truck and he would have his mechanic solve the problem. After two days, Diaa called us and said some minor work was done and that the truck was ready. We went to pick up the truck and the truck had not been moved from the spot we left it.The next day major smoking was still occurring. We tried to call Diaa back but we kept getting his secretary who said he was not in or to call back in thirty minutes.

Finally, after several days we decided to take the truck up to the lot to locate Diaa. Miraculously, he was there. He once again said he would get the truck checked out and fixed. When we left the truck this time, we wrote down the mileage and placed a marker on the tire to see if his mechanic was really doing anything to the truck. Two days later, we called him since we had not heard an update. He was actually there and told us his mechanic did not find a problem. Of course, the marker and mileage were just how we left them. The truck was never moved. Once all of this occurred, we were now out of the verbal contract timeframe of fixing anything wrong on the truck.

We took thhe truck to the Nissan dealership and the mechanics said that the head had been altered and the pcv sensor was bad and they replaced it. They also said if that does not fix the problem that the engine needs to be replaced . It is now four months later and the truck is on the side of the road broken down. Not only does it still need a new engine but now the transmission lines need replacing. There is absolutely no way a truck that I owe over $14,000 (price includes financing charges) should need such extensive work from day two and the seller stalling long enough to let the verbal contract expire.

Also, I had to pay for the taxes on the truck two months after I purchased it. Diaa charged me for the tax, tags, and title but somehow this money did not go to the proper authorities. I have video and receipts to show all of this.

Please be careful if going to this dealership. /they have a facebook page were they advertise as being with the BBB. They are not affiliated with the BBB. Diaa and his brother agreed to and told my husband and I lies to ensure they sold and did not have to fix this very expensive lemon.
