SUMMARY: AutoTrust Platinum is not a brand, it is an extended warranty tacked on to an inferior product. This is intentionally deceptive advertising devised by Auto Parts Warehouse.
When I purchased more expensive AutoTrust branded ignition coils, I expected a higher quality product for the extra cost. I thought I had been sent the wrong part, becuase what I got was the "Replacement" branded coils. Auto Parts Warehouse customer service explained that AutoTrust Platnum is not a brand at all, it is just an extended warranty tacked onto the inferior product.
I explained that I had no intention of paying so much extra for an extended warranty. All that does is give me the right to put my vehicle out of service for a couple weeks while I pay to ship parts back and forth, and pay for all the labor to put another inferior product back in my car.
After an hour of arguing with a few people, even being hung up on once, Auto Parts Warehouse finally agreed to accept my return, waive the restocking fee, and pay return shipping. The supervisor made very clear to me that agreeing to do so is NOT an admission of fault on their part, only a customer satisfaction gift.
I ordered a remanufactured power steering pump from them and after receipt returned the product. I followed their 15 step return process, received RA information and followed it precisely. I returned the product in the original packaged UNOPENED and UNTOUCHED. After waiting the 4 weeks for refund with nothing there I called them. They first claimed to have never received the product back and the customer service rep hung up on me when I was getting the tracking number to prove it was received. Called back and gave them the tracking number, then the story quickly changed to "we can't refund you because you sent back a used product"?!?!?! I explained again that it was returned to them without the box ever being opened and they even acknowledged that it was received unopened, ubelievable!!!
They are still refusing refund and claiming it is used!!! They are a complete SCAM - STAY AWAY, you will regret doing business with them.
Auto Parts Warehouse scammed me out of my $45 refund which was promissed to be credited to my credit card used to purchase my auto part.
Their customer service although friendly never followed up with their end of the bargain. The part cost me $20 to send to them through FedEX. Three months of this cat and mouse chase had left me angry. Although the amount is only $45 it's the point.
Don't trust this company if you intend to exercise your refund option. They didn't refund me nor would I imagine they would refund you.
