Where are these florists really at?

I only ended up here because my regular florists was out ill and had to close shop for 2 weeks. I was assured that they were local to the area only to find out they were not. They have such high handling charges because they take the orders and then send them on to a real florists shop who really does the job and doesn't get 1/3 of the handling charges which they deserve. I will never use this florist phone line again. I also ended up with my delivery being 1 day late as well.

To save myself a lot of time I will just copy and paste the email that I sent to the florist to complain.

First let me say that what drew me to your company was that I was offered free shipping...only to realize that there was still a handling charge of $13 which I felt was deceptive. I went through with my order because of all the time that I spent picking out an arrangement and filling in my info.

The order was for a beautiful arrangement that was to be delivered to the funeral home for a loved one and was located 3 hours from my home. I was guaranteed same day delivery and requested it be delivered by 5:00 pm.

Secondly, I called back several hours later to place an order for a second floral arrangement from my parents. I asked if there was any way to waive the handling charge because I had placed another order online about 6 hours before. A manager was asked and a $9.99 discount was offered to me. I gladly accepted the discount. After a half hour on the phone with the florist I was told that the computer would not let her put in the discount so I could not have the discounted price. Then I asked if the arrangement could just be added to my previous order and possibly save on the handling charges that way but the woman on the phone told me that the arrangement from earlier had already been delivered to the funeral home, this was around 2:00pm. I thanked her and declined the second arrangement and called another florist.

Finally, I arrived at the funeral home several hours later, around 6:30 pm and there is no flowers. I asked the funeral director about them because the florist had assured me HOURS before that they had already been delivered. Instead of grieving with my family I am stuck on the phone with the florist for another half hour and was told that the flowers would be delivered the following day at 2:00 pm. That happened to be the exact time of the funeral service, clearly that was not going to work. I had to ask the customer service rep at LEAST 10-15 times for a refund, she just kept repeating ""give me a second chance"", beside asking the family to reschedule the funeral service there was no giving a second chance.

Your unprofessional services made me look like a heel for not having the decency to send flowers to the funeral home. I made it a point to tell the family that I did indeed try to send flowers, showed the confirmation email showing that the delivery was to be made by 5:00pm the same day.

I will never use your florist for anything again, I will highly discourage any friends and family from using your services too. I will scream it from my blog, and hope that nobody else will ever have to suffer the humiliation of making the mistake and using your florist even if it does offer ""FREE shipping""

I contacted Ava's Flowers on 4/4/14 after searching online for a florist in College Station, TX. They were listed first and advertised same day delivery. After searching online for a few acceptable arrangements, I called and was told that it would be the next day for delivery as the delivery person wadelivering making deliveries for the day but assured me ttie flowers would be delivered the next day. I then was informed that the majority of the arrangements I had selected were not available since it was Friday and they would not be receiving more flowers from their distributor before Monday, with a Tuesday delivery. I finally found an arrangement that they agreed was available. Although the online price said $49.99, the final price was going to be around $75, which I questioned since there was supposedly no delivery charges. I was informed there were handling charges. When I questionedwhy they were so high, they offered to reduce it to $68.94 if they didn't include a bow. Since I did not feel like starting over with another company, I agreed. The following day I received an email with a delivery status link.

When I checked, I received the message that my order was on schedule for delivery that day. By the end of the day there still had been no delivery. I called and was informed that she was was unable to contathe anyone as the store was closed so she did not know why they had not been delivered. I sent an email to customer service to ask why my order was not delivered. On Sunday, 4/6, I received a reply that only said they were unable to deliver but would deliver as soon as possible. WHAT does THAT mean? As soon as possible could be 3 months from now. This response told me nothing and was totally unacceptable! I called customerservice once again and was informed the reason they were not delivered as their affiliate had no delivery person. This was the first time that I became aware that Ava'sFlowers was not actually a brick and mortar florist but contracted with local florists nationwide to do their arrangements and deliveries. I asked for a complete refund as my friend was going to be released from the hospital the following day so there was no longer a need. I was so very disappointed as I was humiliated that I was unable to cheer up my friend while in the hospital. If Ava's was unable to fulfill my requests, I would have appreciated that they tell me so I could have taken my business to someplace that could have assisted me instead of wasting my time. After requesting my refund, they said it could take up to 10 days to receive it. DO NOT WASTE your time with this company!!!
