This company just became GREEDY! I had a lifetime license and with the new plans I no longer have access. BULLSHIT! DONT GIVE THEM ANY MONEY!!

I recommend vce2pdf.com - Just get your vce files from examcollection and convert them to pdf. Very simple and quick service!

AVANSET and EXAMCOLLECTION - BIG SCAM BY SAME COMPANY

Please resist in ever USING AVANSET and Examcollection, they took my money and when you try to chase them to cancel your monthly CC payment they take a long time to reply, they have also taken additional charges from my CC, however, I phoned my VISA company and complained that its was a SCAM and they refunded and investigated CERTPLEX LTD.

I suggest all of you do the same, if you have ever bought from this company, VISA or AMEX will arrange a refund and investigate the company. This will drive certplex out from the credit or debit card space without obtaining authorisation.

Go ON and call your Credit card company and raise the complaint that these monthly charges were not authorised they will refund you and investigate this company. YOU HAVE NOTHING TO LOOSE.

CERTPLEX IS A SCAM - someone needs to stop them and a new exam simulator needs to be made. GOOD LUCK!

Lifetime Scam

I purchased this in October of 2013 when they stated in their contract it was a lifetime program, "Purchase it once and you never have to purchase again." In April, it stopped working, they stated they changed company policy and I would have to pay. I fought and they let it work again. On Oct 1st of 2014, it stopped again, I contacted them and they stated that I would have to pay and that they gave to to me for free til Oct.1 of 2014. I am sorry, Lifetime means lifetime, I purchased this under that agreement. They will not honor it and judging by what they are charging now they will not be around for long.

Sold me software and then erased the key

I purchased software from Avanset and when I went to reinstall it on my reimaged computer, the key didn't work. I contacted Avanset support SEVERAL times and never got a reply. So I contacted their payment vendor who also tried contacting Avanset and got no reply. This POS company is nothing but a bunch of scam artists.

scam

Same as above. Absolutely ridiculous. I agree, it was not in anything when I signed up and gave my card info. You have to specially go to support and look for it. Avanset support was a joke. They are just ripping us off and getting away with it.

Avanset is a company that provides subscription based services for exam simulators. Avanset offers several subscription options from 1-month to 12-month. Unfortunately, their advertising for the 1-month subscription is misleading and apparently a bait and switch tactic.

Avanet currently advertises a 1-month subscription for $59.99 and a 3-month subscription for $49.99. Their website does not specify a minimum duration on the 1-month subscription and leaves the impression that one can pay $59.99 and get a 1-month subscription.

I purchased the 1-month subscription and canceled the subscription at the end of 1 month. I was surprised to find that Avanset was demanding a $59 charge to cancel the subscription prior to a 3 month term. A minimum duration of 3 months was not specified on the poduct page, checkout page, terms of use or billing policy page of Avanset web site.

Additionaly, my invoice stated a 1-month subscription

Concerned of incurring additional fees from Avanset I canceled my account and paid the $59. I contacted Avanset support requesting the refund of $59 due to the misleading advertising. I provided Avanset with a summary, my invoices, and screen shot's of the misleading advertising with a recomendation on how to prevent similar incidents. Avanset support was not helpful and refused to escalate my case internally. Avanset stated that their 3-month policy is communicated on their support page. A support page is not an appropriate place to put service terms. Avanset was using the support page to claim that the term is documented on their website. I was very suprised by Avanset's response and lack of concern over a misleading advertising/bait and switch claim.

Initialy, I thought that the misleading advertising may have been inadvertent. However, after dealing with Avanset support I firmly believe that Avanset is purposely using the misleading advertising.

I would recomend avoiding the services of Avanset/Certplex as their misleading advertising appears to be condoned by their organiztion.

Yeah Avanset screwed me too

The same issue is happening with me.

If you want to cancel you account, you must:

Download a PDF file

(If you don't have a PDF editor, you will need to print the file)

Fill out the PDF file

Scan or save it back to your computer as a JPG file.

Obviously they are just trying to screw people over. They're so lame it hurts.

Total Rip Off

This what happened to me. I thought I has bought a £19.99 piece of software but 30 days later it turns out I had signed up to a $59.99 monthly subscription. They took the first payment immediately without my knowledge and when I tried to cancel 30 days later the tried to say that I should have cancelled with 14 days and that I would have to pay 3 months.

I believe that they deliberately failed to notify me so that I was unaware and could not cancel within the cooling off period.

STAY AWAY FROM AVANSET.

THIS COMPANY IS CRIMINALLY AND ILLEGALLY USING COMPANY ENDORSEMENTS WITHOUT PERMISSION

THEY ARE CRIMINALS. THEY FALSELY EXTORT MONEY FROM PEOPLE.

DO NOT PURCHASE THIS SOFTWARE

ITS CHEAPER TO BUY GENUINE EXAM PREPARATION PROGRAMS FROM REPUTABLE COMPANIES FOR THE SUBJECT YOU ARE STUDYING.

Legally cancel subscription early and hurt Avanset in the process

The way they offer their contract is against EU law, adopted in the UK (and they know it)

http://ec.europa.eu/justice/consumer-marketing/files/crd_guidance_en.pdf

Page 32:

quote:

Article 8(9) of the Consumer Rights Directive expressly confirms that it is without prejudice

to the provisions laid down in Articles 9 and 11 of Directive 2000/31/EC, whereby the trader

is required to allow the consumer to verify the e-order before placing it.

Accordingly, Article 8(2) of the Directive would in practice apply at the moment in which the consumer is asked to verify the order in line with the eCommerce Directive, i.e. to check the contents of the

shopping basket before clicking on the 'buy' button.

The terms 'directly before' in Article 8(2) should cover, firstly, the temporal aspect and should be construed as meaning ‘immediately before’. Furthermore, the terms 'prominent manner' and 'close vicinity' in Recital 39 suggest stronger requirements on presenting information compared to the general requirements under Article 6(1) and 8(1). The information should be presented in a way that the consumer can actually see and read it before placing the order without being obliged to navigate away from the page used to place the order.

The specific pre-contractual information requirements referred to in Article 8(2) are:

(1) the main characteristics (Article 6(1)(a));

(2) the total price (Article 6(1)(e));

(3) the duration of the contract and the conditions for terminating it (Article 6(1)(o));

(4) where applicable, the minimum duration of the contract (Article 6(1)(p)).

This is adopted in UK law as said:

https://www.gov.uk/government/publications/2010-to-2015-government-policy-consumer-protection/2010-to-2015-government-policy-consumer-protection#appendix-3-implementing-the-consumer-rights-directive-201183eu

After sending this, the response was that payment had to be done nonetheless because it's company policy - like a company can state to not be bound by law... It says a lot about their business ethics.

Then it was stated that the credit card company had been ordered to cancel future payments, and a confirmation of cancellation came. Which makes sense, because of too many people cancel it through their CC company, the CC company may stop processing orders for them.

So if you want to hurt them, just let them know it's against the law. Nothing else. Then if they withdraw from the CC, cancel it without warning. If they complain, restate it's against the law and that you will cancel any future payment. If enough actual cancellations through CC happen, they will be forced to change their policy or lose the CC business.

1. Billing policy agreement does not mention this company "rule" of minimum 3-month subscription. Instead there is a vague statement of "minimum period", which of course is open to any interpretation. The rest is taken care of misleading marketing and design of the webpage, as described below.

2. This "rule" is only mentioned in "how-to" faq in completely different section of purchasing the product, where it will be seen apparently only when there is need to stop the automatic renewal of subscriptions.

3. On the purchase page, the is note about the automated renewal, no notification whasoever though about this "rule".

4. Way of presentation/names of offers "1-month", "3-month", "6-month" subscription is misleading as there is no hint whatsoever about "1-month" subscription, meaning "3-month subscription paid monthly instead of upfront".

5. Renewal was arbitrarily set in my case as well from 4/2/2015 to wed.

1/6/2015. Please notice there are no weekends involved on those dates, that would somehow justify this.

6. I cancelled my mastercard to protect my account as instead of forwarding my message to legal department and accepting my cancellation request, they insisted in trying to convince i "have to" comply..

Avanset is a scam and nothing more!!!!

Avanset is a total scam. I thought I had a link to purchase the primium package, but when I downloaded it, I learned I had the basic edition!

The company refused to refund my money.

Great! They want to charge me one hundred bucks to read a few tests, filled with mistakes and incorrect conclusions.

We have to get the word out that this company is a scam.

Purchased (renewed) the VCE simulator and sec+ 401 test questions- received both via download but the files are corrupted and don't run. Company doesn't respond to emails- they give you a ticket # but then don't contact you further. Total scam artists. Don't use.
