I saw an advertisement for Background Alert on the internet with 100% Free at the top of their ad on the internet. I clicked on it to see how much it cost for their 100% Free service. The service cost $29.99, so I tried to close out the window. A pop-up came on the screen stating that for $1.00 I could try the service for a 5 day trial. So I gave them permission to debit my card for the $1.00. Before the 5 days was past, I wrote them an email stating that their service was worthless, and only had information that could be found in the white pages. I told them that everyone I looked-up was, in fact married, that they reported as not being married. They also listed my mom as arrested in California. She has never been to California or been arrested anywhere. I noticed in June that they had charged my debit card $29.99, so I called their customer service person to tell him that I only agreed to the 5 day trial. He said that I had to also call to cancel the made-up membership and I would not be refunded. I told him that I would be telling everyone about their scam and less then reputable business practices. I looked up Background Alert on the Better Business Bureau, and filed a complaint along with the other 4 listed there with about the same story. Do not be tricked by the Background Alert scam and worthless information they are trying to pass of as being of value to anybody. They should be fined, put out of business, jailed and made to refund everyone they have scammed. There are to many people like them, ripping off the public. Deffinitly "Buyer Beware" of Background Alert.
Back Ground Alert, or https://www.backgroundalert.com is junk, I am a convict that did around 15 years in prison for crimes of money, since then I went to collage and became a better person that works with inmates in the prisons. I tested the site with my info and it does not show me even in the system. I have lived in oregon 25 years, most my crimes are here and yet nothing comes up, what if you looked at the guy you were dating and his did not come up. I have hurt a lot of people over the years and this site gives me a clean bill of health.. What a joke, if I am not listed then I am guessing there are large gaps making this site completely not safe to trust
