I know of registered sex offenders in my neighborhood and beenverified has no record of it. I have been trying to use it as a tenant screening tool but it is proving to be useless.
Beenverified.com might work for some but I found it to be very unimpressive and totally dissapointing. As soon as I saw the "report" I had searched I knew that there information couldn't be that great. It was not worth the $9.95 trial fee.
I was serching for records on someone I know for a fact to be dead and not recently, he was murdered in 1985. According to been verified this person is still alive. So right away I know their database couldn't be very comprehensive. I was able to see one criminal conviction on my subject, which didn't surprise me, but I know there was more than one. That conviction was the ONLY information I could find, besides his age (which was incorrect) and location(I suppose this is last known), but No date of death. No family or marriage records, nothing.
So just be warned that it might give you some information about your subject but probably not all of it and who knows if it really is "verified".

Yesterday I signed up for a 5 day free trial $1.00 for unlimited full reports. Once signed up the reports were basic (you get more on your credit report). To access the criminal and court items which supposedly is with the service they charge you $9.98 per report.
When I looked up my credit account they had not charge me $1.00 but charged $22.89 + $9.98. When I called this morning to cancel it I was given the run around and said It cancelled and would not bill me anymore. I called and talked to their customer service. The csr wouldn't give me his name or employee number.
Finally he said he could request a refund on the monthly amount and then told me it was credited. Then he said I should receive it shortly, they in about 5 - 7 business days. I asked about the $9.98 for the report that gave me nothing extra but that is the charge for looking it up.
What a scam, they advertise one special and then say that is not what you signed up for.
Don't be sucked in to their web site. They will rip you off and their information is incorrect and not current and useless. They will over charge you.

I lost my hard drive and my copy of my cancellation.
Signed up for a month to check out the girl I was dating after hearing some unsavory things about her. Was given little information, only her current address, previous addresses, and names of relatives and individuals living at previous addresses. Out of curiousity I ran the names of others I knew. Many had incorrect or not up-to-date addresses.
Now this is the kicker. I ran the names of a number of individuals I knew to have criminal backgrounds. Not a single one came up with any criminal records. Isn't that the purpose of the site?!?!
I called to cancel and was asked why I was cancelling. I told them the site was useless and the guy on the phone tried to fast talk me out of cancelling, stating I was still under the free trial. "But if I don't cancel before the trial is up I get billed, correct?"... "Yes" he said... "well cancel me then, wtf"
if you're trying to run someone's background for the safety of you or your family this site is a total waste of time and money. Just spend the money on a background check from a REAL site.
