We (husband and I) first met with the manager at the time to view the apartment. We were shown the MODEL apartment. We couldn't see an actual apartment. The model was very nice and clean. Updated kitchen and carpets in the model. We put down a holding deposit fee.
When we came back, before signing a lease aggrement, we requested to see the apartment we would be moving into. For starters, the outside of the apartments are don't look like the pictures on their website. We went to go view the actual apartment, and there was paint chipping badly off the door and building. The manager unlocked the apartment and we walked in.
I immediatly was attacked by the overwhelming smell of Glade Plug-in's and Febreeze. Every outlet had some sort of air freshner in it. It was hard to breath with the powerful smell. Even with all the air freshners, I could smell urine. It smelled like cat piss. It was horrible smelling!!! The carpet was stained everywhere and in dire need of replacement.
They walls needed to be repainted. The apartment was dusty and dirty. We told the manager we would find somewhere else to live. It was honestly that bad! After my husband and I left the apartment complex, for about 2 weeks, the manager kept calling us trying to get us to move in. She even offered us a discount if we moved in. She kept trying to push us to rent there.
Oh, and when we were walking to go view the apartment, there was dog poop everywhere! No one cleans up their dogs mess!!!
