Big Timber Firewood advertised in fort worth star telegram classified selling firewood. I called and ordered full cord of firewood. Had several calls back and forth with BTF. Requested for them to take time as not in a emergency situation as weather not yet to winter. Finally owner/manager/employee, (Keith) called to deliver wood.
No show. After next conversation with BTF delivery time was set for Saturday 11/29 around 4:00 PM. BTF shows up around 1 PM with explaination had finished other jobs early. BTF unloaded wood and while this was being done went inside and wrote two checks from 2 of our accounts. $125.00 each check.
Did not go outside to check how cord was placed and was completly surprised when I did. Wood was 16"/17" wide in one row, 4 feet high, and 10 feet one row long. A full cord is 16" to 17" wide 4 feet tall and 24 feet long. Was scammed by not checking before I wrote checks.
Called our bank this AM (Monday 12/01) and had a note to hold on 1 check to BTF until I could see what and why so short on what I paid for. Advised was putting stop payment on one check, if I did not receive call back before 5:00 PM. No call, nothing.
Stopped payment and gave BTF option to come pick up overage over half cord I paid for. This is a very, very poor company that I dealt with. Scale of 1 to 10 being excellent. Would score BTF minus 1. Service, extremly poor.
Be careful what is asked for and what is actually delivered.
