I has put a large sum of money in the account Friday the month of march ..2015 by the morning of Saturday . the next day they said I had nothing avail.. I had called and called the first rep stated there was a update .. And my acct had suffered a hit. He assured me that my money in full would be replaced with in 72 hrs due to the tech team had to revie to make sure it had no other error. I still yet to be fulfilled of there promise the money is long gone. I placed over a 100 logged call to beg and pleade for my money.. I did every loop hole possible.

Even several supervisors assured me that this would be taken care of . One rep was nice enough to give me a courteous credit and I was told he was fired . for help a single mom get her hard earned money returned.. It was only 50.00 of the amount but sleeping in my car .and my mom passing away in the same time frame didn't help.. And my autistic son had to suffer . so needless to say I. Still in the whole and someone has stolen my acct .. I font know all I know is run from this lieing deceived company and never give them nothing in case in loose it. There system updated and wipe me clean.. Watch out

The American Express Bluebird/Walmart account looked like a nice setup for my family, to easily manage and provide funds to teenage kids for gas, cash, etc. What a pain! In about 10 days I received a card, immediately after that I get an email that the card I was sent was no good and another would be sent. That didn't happen. After another 10 days, I call, and do get a new card sent. I get that working, and setup accounts/cards for the rest of the family.

After 2 weeks of using the account, funding from bank account and other account debit cards, a security hold is put on the account preventing any new funds from being added. I could still use the cards, and remove funds from the bluebird account, but could not add any new funds. After accepting almost 20 transactions into the account, they decided that they could not confirm that I owned the incoming account(?) and I would need to mail them copies of my drivers license, my bank statement and copy of debit card... Copied from email below...

Valid Picture ID

A valid driver's license card OR

A valid state issued ID OR

A valid Government ID Card (e.g. Green Card)OR

A valid United States Passport

A copy of your Bank Statement from US Bank Account Ending in N/A, which is dated within the last 3 months, and shows your name, address and last four digits of your account number.

A copy of the front of the Debit Card or Payroll Card Ending in.

The context off my complaint is fundamentally simple. I attempted to make a purchase from Bass Pro without realizing that my anticipated purchase exceeded my account balance. Needless to say, the transaction was declined by Blueburd, and voided by Bass Pro. There are two distinctly separate frustrations here. First, the transaction was for a reimbursable business expense from my personal funds. Second, the reason for my report, Bluebird by American Express is refusing to release the funds that were available for as many as 8-days. Today is day 3.

I have been a business owner and contracted with merchants services before. Nefer in my professional or personal experiences have any of my customers' funds, or my personal funds, been held beyond midnight of the cancelled/voided transaction date. This is shameful behavior, and it scrapes the bottom of the barrel.

It would be rude to file a complaint without giving Bluebird the opportunity to resolve the situation first. I have spoken with numerous customer service representatives, and gone to the extent of verifying my personal banking information between Wells Fargo and Bluebird/AMEX, at the request of Bluebird. I still do not understand why, but it was apparently necessary. Speaking to customer service was a painful experience. It is clearly outsourced to a diagonally opposite corner of the world. They need to upgrade the strings between their tin cans and ours. The conversation was very muffled, and metallic sounding, which made understanding the broken English of a Pakistani, or Indian, call center that much more frustrating.

[side note...if it is not going to be American, just call it Express]

Customer service, an separate calls told me:

1. The funds will be released in 5 to 15 minutes.

2. You have to call Bass Pro's bank to have them release the funds.

3. It is the policy of American Express to not release the funds until the merchant goes 7-8 days without claiming the funds.

Well...I do not care, or agree. The transaction was both declined by American Express and voided by Bass Pro. Give me back the money I entrusted to American Express. This should not be used as a 7-8 day investment opportunity by AMEX.

This behavior is shameful. I do not want to tell people to not use the Bluebird services by American Express. Prospective customers should be aware of how much/little access to their hard earned money they should expect to have.

This "policy" is pathetic, and borderline thievery.

Last month i had microsoft try to pull out 9.99 for the xbox live i did not othrise that. i called them and they sed they took cair of it and then i called bluebird by amex and they refunded my money that day no problem .well the next day i woke up and the 9.99 charge was there agan and yet agan i called microsoft and they sed that they would fix the problem and they clame they did and then i called bluebird by amex and this time they told me it would be 8-20 days befor my money would be returned to me. i bit the bullet cause it was only 9.99 but while i was on the phone with them i told them to note that that charge from them was an un othrised charge and to not let it go through ever agan if they try to charge me agan. well here it is a month later microsoft did it to me agan tryed to take 9.99. i called yesterday and they sed they fixed it and i called bluebird by amex and they refunde my money that day while i was on the phone with them and low and behold i wake up today and they have alowed the 9.99 charge to come through agan. when i called they sed i would have to call the merchant cause they have no record of me calling the day before and no record of the 9.99 being returned to me the day before .so i call microsoft and they say that it was refunded and that my card should have the money on it because it was taken from there account yesterday. so why is bluebird trying to say they cant give me my money it was an instant trans action threy have receved the refund so where is it and why am i being billed agan for it? they say they are wating on the merchant yet the merchant says the refund is allredy approved and has cleared and they have not charged me agan
