Bob Graham of Bob's Coastal Contractors defaulted on two home improvement projects. He walked out in the middle of a bathroom rennovation leaving me without a tub or shower while I tried to find a new contractor who would be willing to walk into a project started by another contractor.
Bob Graham is very volitile and short tempered. When asked about timeline when project would be finished he said it's done when it's done. He lied about why he had to start the bathroom rennovation late. He said he was going to CA for 3 weeks and I found out he was going to jail for 60 days. When I asked for my $2,000 deposit back he refused and said the money just held a spot for me for fture work. He demanded he bring his dog to the job every day. I asked that the dog stay on blankets and rugs (that I had to provide) and I would often find the dog on my carpet (big male Golden Retreiver).
Bob Graham invited a stranger into my home while I was away (he was working on the bathroom) so that the prospective client could see the work he had done so far. He never asked for my permission. Bob Graham demanded that he park in my driveway (even when he did not need access to his truck). I told him that I and my tenant next door need to be able to get our car out of the driveway during the day. He yelled at me that I should park in the street not him. My tenant had at one time told him he needed to move his truck out of driveway because he had to pick up his daugher from school. Bob Graham was caustic to my tenant and my tenant complained about him.
Bob Graham trashed my home. While away on a buisness trip I had two people who were feeding my pets text me to tell me Bob had set up my kitchen and entire first level as a contraction zone (the bathroom rennovation was upstairs and he already had access to two rooms upstairs for his things. I had to hire a cleaner and pay them $300.00 to clean fine dust off all my furnishings; he trashed my yard as well.
The new contractor I hired pointed out several mistakes Bob had made and he had to correct his work. I have pictures.
Bob was not up to date on building code information for bathrooms and directed me wrong in regards to venting.
Bob threatened to sue me with a defamation lawsuit if I said anything negative about him or his work.
About two months after he walked out on the job he walked into my yard and took my ladder and left me a note saying the ladder was his. I sent him an email and told him the ladder belonged to me for about 15 years and to return it immediately which he did.
This is not a reputable company! he works alone and he follows no rules. He paid a stranger from the neighborhood to go up on my roof to help him...a serious liability! My yard was trashed and litered from roof debris, nails, bushes destroyed,and he would drive off for the day and leave the mess.When asked to clean before leaving ,his temper flared. he began with the threats , bad language, total disrespect.( We still have the text messages from him with the threats) His quotes change everyday needing more money,he is completely unbalanced! We had the local police escort him off our property mid job after 2 weeks of hell! We hired a professional contractor to complete the work and re-do many of his mistakes and shortcuts!
Mr. Graham kept my $2000 deposit after he broke the contract by not showing up to do the work in the time frame of the contract. When I asked for my deposit back, he declined. He did no work and has essentially stolen my money.
