August 2013 I purchased a Samsung galaxy s3 from Boost Mobile. The very first day I received the phone, it only showed I was getting 3g with one or two bars. Basic web pages loaded extremely slow. Trying to watch a thirty second video on youtube buffered and buffered and buffered usually failing to play. I called boost that evening. Living in a large metropolitan city, Boost said 4g lte was available in my zip code and throughout my city. I should receive 4g lte with at least 3 bars. I was told i had not given enough time for my phone to begin connecting to 4g network and I should wait awhile longer and call back the following day if my phone still did not display 4g one maybe two bars but within two or less minutes, 3g would light back up. The internet was still almost impossible to access.

I called Boost again a few days later and they updated the profile and told me it might just be my house, maybe lots of trees or something of that nature. Otherwise, the update should resolve it.

Rarely, no matter my location, did my phone ever display 4g. I hardly ever attempted to go online due to the aggravation of lag etc. I thought maybe it WAS something to do with the oak trees in my yard. Rarely leaving home, I rarely was able to do anything substantial online. Loading gmail inbox , if it even loaded, would take 10-15 minutes.

I called Boost and complained again a couple months later. They said nothing was wrong with connection and i should try updating the profile myself periodically.

Instead I started walking to my local library to try wifi. Most times it v takes 3-4 attempts due to error messages saying " your connection speed is too slow to access the network" eventually It connects and internet speed is very fast.

A few months later, I moved six blocks away. At that time, I began losing even the 3g periodically throughout the day, error messages saying you are not connected to the network. Id have to reboot the phone or switch back and forth from air plane mode to remedy and have 3g display again.

I called Boost , I was told the Sprint towers in my zipcode were being refurbished and when work was complete on the towers I should see much faster speeds on my phone including 4G LTE. however, Boost did not know how long exactly the repairs would take but to be patient. They credited my account $10 for the problem.

Quite awhile went by and now June 2014, i called again as simply trying too load anything online became increasingly more and more slow. Tower issues i was told Again and received Another $10 credit.

By july, I began questioning the so called tower issues because friends with Sprint that came over with cheaper phones received 4g full bars at my house. I persistently tried to use internet, at times waiting in excess of 20-30 minutes to stream a 30 minute YouTube video. Watching it took sometimes an hour due to rebuffering.

August 2014, the fifth day into my monthly plan I received a message from boost saying I had utilized all 5 gigs of my monthly data and I was being reduced to 2g. My phone still displayed the typical 3g one maybe two bars but loading any website was not possible. Apps utilizing internet failed to item all month long.

September 2014 according to boost, my speed had resumed. Websites like normal lagged, 4g rarely displayed and when it did, nothing changed.

I called to complain again to Boost and I also upgraded my account to allow 10 gigs of monthly data thinking the forever lag to load anything must be consuming all the data. ( I had spent two hours trying to stream a 40 minute YouTube video August 4. ) This upgrade meant more expensive monthly bill. I told them again about the connectivity issues .

Boost at that told me tower issues in my area were resolved and again I should easily receive 4G with a minimum of 3 bars. If not there may be something defective with my phone. I complained that I bought the offline from boost phone customer service and have had this issue the entire time. I asked boost to replace my galaxy with an identical model free of charge. Boost said NO, that I jUst need to purchase a new device but I would receive a promotional coupon via text with in three business days.

I received nothing.

October 2014 I called boost again to complain about not receiving the discount code and to havev then trouble shoot my device again. I was told my phone had manufacturing issues and I would again need to just purchase a new device which they would help me select. I declined and did receive the discount code. I could not afford a purchase. I began updating the phone's profile with boost daily after I was told until I buy a new device, this may possibly help the connectivity issues.

It did nothing.

I was running kit Kat with all hardware updates, current PRL and according to boost diagnostic app , 3g and 4g run perfectly on my device.

November 2014, thoroughly annoyed thinking i HAD purchased a defective phone from Boost, I began using public wifi to research online ways to possibly fix my Samsung phone.

November 14, 2014 I emailed a Samsung developer, found & downloaded 2 samsung apps. One explained how to view the exact network connection speed my phone was using in the phone's settings. This feature of the phone is not easily or obviously noted in the settings. The other app i got allows Samsung tech support to remotely log in , access my phone to diagnose and or repair.

GUESS WHAT I FOUND IN SETTINGS OF MY PHONE????

ALL THIS TIME IT HAS BEEN 2G !!!

I IMMEDIATELY called Samsung tech support. He performed a remote login, confirmed what I had found. He also said Samsung receives a substantial number of calls from Boost customers with the same complaint. He said it is the same result, Boost is running a scam telling customers they are getting 3g/4g connection speed but actually only providing 2g.

SAMSUNG ISSUED A REFERENCE # ATTACHED TO MY PHONE AND SAID TO FILE AN OFFICIAL STATEMENT/COMPLAINT TO BOOST. Give boost the reference # & Samsung will verify if Boost denies the 2g connection suited they have all along been providing.

Meanwhile, telling me my galaxy isv defective virtually since boost sold it to me... charging me more money for more data .

BOOST ADVERTISES FALSE CLAIMS OF 4G LTE COVERAGE ALL THE WHILE GIVING ONLY 2G !!!!!

Ive been told over a year now by boost they are providing me the fastest coverage, plus has charged me over $780 for a service they are not providing.

Fraudulent and Fake

On Oct. 29 I made my monthly boost mobile cell phone payment, I am on a pay as you go, no contract cell phone plan. I paid my 53.13 and my phone was not working, called to ask why, and they said the payment is pending. I checked my bank account, and funds were taken out. After another 3 calls asking why my phone was still not working 3 hours after the payment, the person said they would work on it. Finally my phone worked, but checked my bank account and another fee of 47.86 was taken out of my bank. So, a total of 100.99 was paid for my monthly plan of 55. (note I am on a shrinking plan, my monthly fee goes down a bit for each month I pay on time) anyway, I called to report this to the advance payment center supervisor and was told that the 53.13 was placed on a "hold" at my bank and they had no intention of collecting that fee. I went to my bank, and spoke with my personal banker and she assured me that YES, BOTH FEES were deducted, and no hold was placed on either fee. I called SEVERAL times to report this yet again, and continue to be told the same thing. The rep asked me to send in proof of the payment, which my personal banker and myself faxed over from the bank. It turned out to be either fake, or bad, because the fax didn't go through. I called for the 13th time to boost mobile and was given a completely different fax number. So, we faxed that in. I was told I would be contacted within 24 hours, which I WAS NOT. In fact, I called this morning, talked with a supervisor in the payment center, and she continues to maintain that there is no intention of them to collect the 53.13, she sounded as though she had LOTS of practice with this, as she sounded as though she was reading from a script. After I told her I am at the point of contacting Wisc. Trade and Consumer Protection, because I keep getting this run around, she hung up on me. Needless to say, this second charge that was taken out has caused me to go NEGATIVE in my bank account, and an avalanche of fees have been assessed. I am now paying 205.99 between the bank and boost mobile for my monthly 55 pay as you go fee.

I went to Wal-Mart to purchase a prepaid cellphone. A Boost-Mobile salesperson was in the store and "sold" me on their $35 unlimited usage phone. We discussed that I live out in the country and she said that if there was any problem, Boost could supply a "signal booster" for service.

Upon returning to my rural home, I found that I had no service at all. Nothing. I returned to the store one week later to return the phone. The same Boost sales person was at the store. She said that if I hadn't at least contacted Boost customer service and requested the signal booster, she could do no more for me. That I could return the phone and I would probably just go through the same thing with all other carriers.

I returned to my car, with the Boost phone, and proceeded to call customer service. A very helpful fellow confirmed that there was no service at my address, cancelled my auto-pay, and confirmed my address for mailing the refund check of $35. He also confirmed that although Sprint (Boost parent) sometimes issued service boosters, Boost does not.

Since my phone would now be deactivated, I gave him my girlfriend's number if any further contact was necessary. And there was further contact.

Another Boost representative called to say that my mailing address did not show up as being serviced by the USPS, so they could not mail a refund check there. Strange, since I get mail on a regular basis. Okay, how about my girlfriend's address in another city. Fine, she says. But then that address also shows at not being serviced by the USPS. One more time - another address in Indianapolis. Oh yes, she says - we show that address as being serviced by the USPS. Great, I say. But oh, there's one thing. That address gets Boost service - so we cannot issue a refund to that address.

WHAT? That conversation got circular quickly, and a little heated. With nothing more for me to do. Sorry, she says.

I could not believe what I was hearing. So I am out $35 for a service that I could not use at my home. Unbelievable!

I will try to "challenge" the charge on my bank card. There's probably a fee for that.

Lesson learned: Check those coverage maps in great detail before going phone shopping. They can say anything. And did.

I am currently a run away domestic violence victim , pregnant , with 1 additional child. On 9/21/14 at about 9:30am, I called boost to change my phone number for our protection. I was told there was a $15 fee to do so! Immediately i feel very unsatisfied because no other wireless company does this, especially not on the customers first time doing it. I then ask to speak to a supervisor because I feel as if this is a huge lack of protection for their customers . The supervisor gave me the same response except told me that they used to waive fees for people like me, but people were taking advantage , so they quit! I go back to saying " but this is my first time" the supervisor didn't care at all. He then transferred me back to the original guy to process my payment and get my new number. I was totally set back by this experience in fact I would like to stop service with them. Some people , especially in these situations, struggle to just pay their bill, and now to add on another fee is just wrong. Boost mobile is the worst carrier. I am now looking to switch to something with better protection coverage.

I switched to Boost Mobile from MetroPCS on June 25 2014 it was the biggest mistake I have made so far . I selected a Kyocera Hydro Edge phone as my phone because the phone was free after I paid the bill in which i did . I was told that the phone was activated and would be availabe to use within an hour. I could not use the phone at all that day and had to go back to the store and see what was the problem they reassured me it was not their fault. The phone finally started working that day but immediately began cutting off without warning losing signal and dropping calls at an alarming rate. I called the Customer Care number and spoke to a representative who told me that the towers were down in my area which sounded crazt seeing that my wifes phone worked perfectly. The next day I visited the Boost Mobile Corporate store and called Customer Care while standing in the store put it on speakerphone and told the Store Rep what they were going to say and not surprisingly they said it was the towers in my area and that i needed to send the phone to Kyocera . They don't care about nothing but getting your money whether your phone is working or not this is a ripoff and should be terminated as a phone company !!!

I 've been with Boost Mobile for several years and I have been calling them for the past couple of days because my phone hasn't been working no outgoing or incoming calls. They called themselves troubleshooting the phone and it still was doing the same thing. So I got fed up with it and called them today to ask for my refund back. Cause my bill ain't due till the 18th of every month and I always pay it on the 1st of the month every month. They responded by saying to me they couldn't give me my money back because I paid cash at one of their retail stores, but they have the money showing in their system. I would like someone to help me with this situation. But for the meantime I wouldn't refer Noone else to Boost Mobile ever again. Bad business.

Boost lied to me and had me waiting for two weeks to get this phone and now all of a sudden when I called to see why it was not here they told me they didn't have it??! No one even tried to call and let me know! Meanwhile I am stuck with a broken phone that also lied about and said it would be fully functional when they sent this one to me and it is not...EVERYTHING is wrong with this phone and I'm supposed to deal with it. The representative that first told me that I could get a replacement phone was named Arvin. He asked me if I wanted a Blackberry or a Samsung and I told him Samsung. All of my apps are on Android and I would lose all date if I went to Blackberry. Also I have had a Blackberry in the past and it is a horrible phone and in no way a suitable replacement for my Android phone. This new representative Ronnil A. told me that was all they could do. It is not fair. I have been left with a barely functioning phone for two weeks thinking the new one was on its way. Also, to add insult to to injury, this rep told me I can buy a new phone which I am sure this was all on purpose to get people to buy new phones. A COMPLETE SCAM!!!!! Also, I have paid my bill consistently and automatically for about two years. My bill should not be $45. They are supposed to take off $5 for every 6 months a customer pays on time. The plan started at $55 and I should be down to 40 per month not 45!

I have had my account with Boost Mobile for approximately 4 months. I then decided to switch to AT&T. I needed to keep the same phone # I have had for 4 years. I was told by AT&T that they can only transfer an active phone #. I then gave permission to AT&T to transfer the number from Boost Mobile.

With Boost Mobile, I always transfer the monthly phone bill amount to my boost wallet account around the middle of the month for the following month phone bill, which is normally due on the 7th of each month.

On June16th,2014 I transferred $55.00 to my boost wallet account for my phone bill due July 07,2014.

I transferred my service from Boost Mobile to AT&T on June 24,2014. I then called Boost Mobile customer service and ask to have my $55.00 refunded to my debit card used to make the payment. I was told that I cannot get my money back because when I transferred my phone #, all records associated with that phone # is permanently deleted, the representative further stated that I can kiss that $55.00 goodbye. The representative's name was deliberately withheld.

I would appreciate any assistance for retrieving my money as I am 61years old and on a fix income with social security.

I bought a brand new boost phone and a month's worth of service. phone like a piece of junk nothing would work right on it. I spent the first 10 days mad messing up all my calls text and email. boost customer service kept doing updates and upgrade to the phone. finally they decided the phone had an internal issue and gave me the warranty phone number and told me I needed to get a replacement phone because I had a one year warranty. I called the warranty people went through a bunch of BS with them and then they tell me I have to pay shipping to send the phone from Florida to Texas for 10 days to be repaired. they would then send the phone back if it still had issues I could pay to send it to them again and 10 days later they would finally send me a new phone. meanwhile the month of service I have prepaid for is just being wasted because I have know phone to use. the worst customer service I have I ever had in my life obviously they sent the phone two me broke because I've been call in them everyday since the first day I got the phone with all the problems. they don't care I'm a single disabled mother with a six year old and I need a phone in case of emergencies. I beg them to please send me the new phone let me keep the crappy one to use it in case I need to call 911 or something. and then I would send them this phone back I have no use for it and they refused. I am getting a phone from metro for free and turning their service on so much for the month I already paid for with the boost. they can stick it. stay away from boost.

I have had service with Boothmobile for past 1 1/2 yrs now.

they reduced my data speed for over usage. My phone usage is usally at home and at work where there is WiFi. I have many times called and asked why I was being stated as over usage and finding my speed was so slow.

The customer service doesn't explain why the reduction has taken place nor give detail solution to the issue. The company's website also doesn't have any information or solutions. Apprently when you are in a Wi Fi zone ...you need to disable your Mobile data through your cellphone. I was never told by the customer service...but found out through my phone settings. But if you call the customer's service...any rep that you get will never tell you to disable it to save your data usage...This is a total Rip Off from the company. It is apprently clear that customer service is told not to inform the customers on how to efficiently use your data usage.

The company need to be responsible to the customers in giving accurate informations and resolutions.

SAVE YOUR DATA in wifi zone---> got to Settings ->data usage

->Mobile data(disable)

This company is a ripoff. They say unlimited texting, calls, and internet. But they only allow a certain amount of gigs in a month. Their service area is very poor. I can't even use it in my home. I have to travel from Manteca, Ca. to Kettleman City, CA everyday for work. There is about 90 miles of no signal. My work trys to call, and they think I am not answering my phone. The whole area of stockton, CA is poor service. They keep changing by cutting instead of improving. Very Bad. Do not use them. You have to buy their phone and it is no good for any other company. Their phones keep freezing up, and you have to turn it off and back on. It is a PCS service which uses other systems. Not as good as the systems used by AT&T or Verizon. I am tired of paying for a service I can't use.
